Alexander Buchan & Son is an appointed representative of Golden Charter Limited trading as Golden Charter Funeral Plans which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN:965279). We are a member of the NAFD (National Association of Funeral Directors) so you are assured of a sympathetic and understanding service. We are also a member of SAIF (National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors). Our office and rest rooms are located in Fraserburgh. We also have another office, Buchan Funerals, in Mintlaw. Both of which cover the whole of the North East of Scotland and offer a full 24 hour service. Our aim is to treat every funeral with our fullest care and attention and to be there for you in time of bereavement. All of our staff understand how difficult a time this can be and we are dedicated to providing you with quality support and guidance. Our services include:

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on Sunday, February 1, 2026, of Jean (nee McDonald), aged 56 years. Beloved wife of Paul, loving mum of Izzy, Shane and the late Hollyanne, a very proud grandma, a much loved sister, sister-in-law, auntie, cousin and good friend to many. Funeral service from Alexander Buchan & Son Funeral Directors, Denmark Street, Fraserburgh on Thursday February 19 at 1pm, thereafter to Kirkton Cemetery, to which all family and friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only please but donations may be given in lieu, at Chapel door for ICU, ARI. Everyone is welcome to join the family at Cheers Cafe Bar and Tavern afterwards.

Acknowledgment - Jane and her family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to everyone for the messages of support, visits, cards, food, baking and flowers on the passing of James. Our warmest and sincere thanks to the wonderful district nurses, carers, Finlayson Street Surgery and medical team at ward 210 - maxillofacial unit ARI. We will always be grateful to Mr Macdonald, David and their team for dad’s care. To Alexander Buchan and Son Funeral Directors, especially Owen for his care and kindness with the funeral arrangements. Special thanks to Pastor Ben and Pastor Lisa for their visits, prayers and care before dad’s passing and with the funeral. To all at AOG Central who helped with the service and to the ladies who provided a beautiful tea and finally our heartfelt thanks to everyone who came to the service and graveside to pay their respects and for the very generous sum given for cancer charities. Acknowledgement – Dorothy’s family would like to thank all family and friends who joined them to celebrate her life. Thanks also for the many heartfelt messages of sympathy extended to them at this sad time. Special thanks to the team at Alexander Buchan & Son Funeral Directors who were so helpful and proficient with the funeral arrangements. Sincere appreciation to Rhoda Mcdonald for the lovely service and kind words. Grateful thanks to the Old Parish Church Centre for providing the teas so efficiently and to Pink Petal and Sunflowers from Home for the beautiful floral tributes.
