I offer everything from a relaxing full body massage, to facial yoga, to I have a focus on trauma work. Treatments can be booked for 30m, 1h or 90m. Prices range from £20 to £60 per session. Please drop me a message to talk to me about my therapies and booking an appointment. Metta means loving-kindness. To practice Metta we must love ourselves; what better way to love ourselves than to look after our bodies and to do this through massage!? I aim to embed my values of empathy and caring into my therapy to meet your treatment needs.

💛 A Little Update & A Big Thank You 💛

I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for being on this journey with me — your kindness, patience and support genuinely mean so much.

As many of you know, I had minor surgery on Tuesday. Although the procedure itself went well, the incision and wound are considerably larger than expected 😬. The advice given following the procedure has quadrupled the initial recovery time I was advised to take! So, it's going to take a little longer than originally planned.

I’m listening to my body, resting as much as I can, and giving myself the space to heal fully so I can return to work safely, comfortably and with the energy you all deserve. 🌿✨

I’ll keep you updated as things progress, and I’ll reopen my diary properly as soon as I’m able. To everyone who has already booked in, I'll be in touch shortly to discuss our options to ensure all treatments meet expectations and appointment goals! 🌸🌟

My treatments today got me thinking 🤔...

🧠 Your Nervous System is the key to a great massage! 💡⚡

Ever wondered why you’re feeling a little “tight”?! 🔬👇

For most people, muscles aren’t physically shortened or knotted — they’re in a state of protective guarding 🛡️driven by your central nervous system 🧬, which is constantly evaluating safety and risk.

When your brain perceives something as threatening — stress, fatigue, past injury, emotional load, or even poor sleep 😮‍💨😴 — it increases muscle tone as a protective strategy.🚨 Voila "tight".

Massage therapy helps by reducing these threat signals 🌿💆‍♀️:
✨ Touch decreases sympathetic activation (fight-or-flight) 🏃‍♂️💥
✨ Breathing boosts parasympathetic activity (rest-and-digest) 🌬️🧘‍♀️
✨ Movement provides the brain with evidence of safety and capacity 🚶‍♀️🧠
✨ Relaxation reduces the amplitude of protective motor output 😌🛋️

A massage in a cosy and safe environment, with a therapist you feel comfortable with, will usually provide better results: as your muscles “release” from my touch, your nervous system is simultaneously updating its assessment on stressors in your life and reduces your overall need for tension 🎯✨. Ergo you should leave my studio feeling relaxed and loosened. Your muscles should not hurt and your nervous system should feel a little more at peace!

Modern pain science emphasises that when we treat the nervous system, the body responds. And if we treat the body, the brain recalibrates. 🔄🤝

Massage works because it influences both systems at the same time — helping your body shift out of protection and into ease 🌿💖😌. And this is what I intend to do through my own unique approach to massage therapy.

I put a lot of thought into the feeling of my Studio: the lighting, the smells, the sounds. And the little chatter we have around (and sometimes during) your treatment is all part of my approach to ensuring maximum relaxation for you as my client to deliver you the best results from your treatment. 🥰💆‍♀️✨

I wanted to share a little personal update 💛

I have a biopsy scheduled in a couple of weeks’ time, so I’ll be closed for a week from Tuesday 2nd December to rest and recover. I’m hoping it will be a straightforward process, but I may need a bit of extra grace and flexibility afterwards, depending on how I’m feeling 🙏✨

The Guardian published a lovely little article Thursday just gone (Link at the end). As most of you probably know my background is Academic and I just love digging deep into the subjects I love - not just your muscles during our treatment sessions! Here’s a quick summary of what the article had to say:

Two BIG takeaways for me: 🧡🌍

1) Massage deserves a bigger role in healthcare: Experts say it shouldn’t only be seen as a spa luxury 🧖‍♀️✨ — it can genuinely support healing and wellbeing for many people 🏥🌿

2) Massage doesn’t always require a therapist: Even simple self-massage, stretching or a foot rub can make a difference 🦶💕 — therapeutic touch can be simple, soothing and accessible 👐🌸 I’ll always try and give you takeaways if I think a change in movement, or a particular area requires more attention in the near future at the end of our sessions!

Thankfully our science research is catching up with what our muscles already knew. At least in America anyway, UK research was considerably more lacking on having a quick look again this week! 💆‍♀️For stress relief → every 2/3 weeks is ideal, but once a month will also help!

💪For chronic tension/pain → weekly or bi-weekly. For Injury recovery I’d recommend once a week, maybe more depending on the injury.

🕊️For relaxation and general maintenance → whenever you need and can afford self-care.

Offering massage in this setting feels incredibly meaningful — it’s a gentle way to support people who have been through so much. Massage can help the body exhale after holding onto stress and trauma for so long 🤲✨ It offers a moment of calm, safety, and connection — reminding the body it’s okay to rest again 🕊️💆‍♀️
