✨ Maternity Support Worker & HCA Day ✨

Today we celebrate our incredible Maternity Support Workers and Healthcare Assistants who are at the heart of our maternity and neonatal services here at Gateshead Health.

Your compassion, dedication and unwavering support make such a difference to our families, babies and staff every single day. We are so grateful for all that you do.

A message from our Associate Director of Midwifery/SCBU:
“A huge thank you to all our MSW & HCAs across our maternity & neonatal service at Gateshead Health. You are the absolute glue that keeps us together & provide such kind, supportive care every day to all our families, babies & staff. Thank you.”

💜 World Prematurity Day 💜

Today we’re marking World Prematurity Day, a time to recognise the strength of babies born too soon, their families, and the staff who support them.
At Gateshead Health Maternity, we’re proud of our neonatal and maternity teams who care for our tiniest patients with compassion and dedication every day.

Thank you so much to the Family Voice Group we attended today at Gateshead Family Hubs - was so lovely to meet the staff and families. We'll definitely be back 😊

Call your maternity unit straight away if:
- Your baby’s movements feel weaker or less often
- The usual pattern of movements changes
- You haven’t felt any movements for a while
- Something just doesn’t feel right

👉 These changes don’t always mean something is wrong. But it’s safest to get checked. Your maternity team is always there for you.
