Important information about your GP practice:
Metro Interchange Surgery, Gateshead
I am writing to provide you with an important update regarding your GP practice. Please share this with everyone in your home who uses this practice.
As you know from our recent letter to you issued in December 2022, we promised to write to you again as soon as a decision was made regarding the future of the practice.
We have now concluded our review and have taken the difficult decision that Metro Interchange Surgery will close permanently and will stop delivering GP services to you from the 31 March 2023.
To ensure that you continue to receive GP services you do not need to take any action at this point as you will be automatically allocated with a local GP practice nearest to you. After this, if at any point you wish to exercise choice you are able to re-register with another practice.
Confirmation of the GP practice that you will be automatically registered with will be provided in due course. You can continue to access your current GP practice as normal. If you have any questions or queries please contact your practice on the normal number: 0191 4776244

We would like to wish all of our patients a merry Christmas and a happy new year.

We also would like to thank you for your support and understanding during what has been a difficult month.

Remember, the surgery is closed on Monday 26th, Tuesday 27th December and Monday 2nd January 2023.

Finally, staying open would not have been possible if it were not for the help and support from the team at Bridges Medical Practice and the wider support from Gateshead Central South Primary Care Network.

It is with great sadness and distress that we have to inform all our patients that Dr Syed Imam Snr passed away suddenly on 8th December 2022 after a short illness.

We will keep patients informed of any further information as we receive it. We would kindly ask for your patience and support at this very difficult time.
