Hello everyone 👋🏻

I know this page has been very quiet. I’m aware that I started with the idea of facilitating a monthly improvised singing group, and other offerings around group improvised singing.

That idea, and desire is still cooking.

I finished my year long course, and like everything I am still processing, slowly and alongside every day life and the way I earn a living.

I have been working deeply on my own wounds, so that when I stand in the position of teacher, that I feel able to support and guide with strength, integrity and care.

Singing and sounding is such a vulnerable act. It is also so potently healing and unifying.

As a facilitator, I want you to benefit, and so I’m taking what I have learnt and really considering how, where and what you will experience. With a sense of purpose.

Slowly but surely, something good will come of this cooking and I will invite you to take part and I’m hoping it give you something memorable, uplifting and nourishing 🙏🏻😌❤️

There is not much in the world that gives me more JOY than this…..

This is collaborative vocal improvisation, and this form pictured is Circle Singing….

Where a leader conducts in the middle of the circle by taking inspiration from the present moment, picking up on the vibe and handing out melodic phrases, vocal percussive phrases, invites harmony and plays with the group to create a layered piece that moves and evolves. The leader can then offer a solo over the top.

It is conducted like an orchestra of sorts and then roles can swap. Everyone brings their own flavour and style.

This form and practice gives me life, and continues to keep me going…. 💜

And the beauty is, it’s so accessible.
