Dear Member
This is the time of year when we would ordinarily come together with you – our members – for the annual EMIS NUG conference.
While the event is not taking place this year, we thought it would be an appropriate opportunity to provide you with an update on the organisation and the work we have been doing over the last 12 months.
We appreciate we have been a little quiet over the last 12 months – during this time, we have been working hard to reshape the organisation and ensure it remains fit for purpose and sustainable. This will enable us to provide the best possible service for you and, ultimately, help improve patient care.
Here’s a quick run-down on what we have been working on and what’s planned for the future:
We will be holding our annual general meeting ( AGM) on Wednesday 17 December and would encourage as many members as possible to attend. This is a great opportunity to have a say in the future of the organisation and tell us how we can best support you.
We have moved the annual conference to the spring – Wednesday 22 April, more information will follow shortly, but I can share that we will have a dedicated VIP stream only for NUG members, which will give you exclusive access to EMIS updates. We appreciate that autumn is a particularly busy time for primary care conferences and GP practices generally, so hopefully this move will allow more members to attend the conference.
As we begin planning the first spring conference in 2026, we want to know how we can tailor the event for members. So please get in touch to tell us what you want to take away from the conference – for example, the type of speakers you’d like to hear from and topics you would like to see covered in workshops. The advancement of AI and the number of tools being launched which could support General Practice mean that this is top on our list of hot topics, along with the work we need to do to safely implement them.
We have closed the office in Newcastle and now operate a hybrid working model, with committee members located all over the country.
Our contact details have changed so please email enquiries@emisnug.org.uk.
We look forward to seeing you at the AGM!
