🎥 Meet Collin – One of Our Amazing Recovery Coordinators! 🎥

We’ve just shared a new reel featuring Collin, who’s part of our Entry Into Service Team, and he did such a fantastic job… honestly, was he an actor in another life?! 😄👏

In the video, Collin talks through what the process of coming into service looks like and what you can expect when you first reach out to us.

We know that taking that very first step into recovery services can be really tough. It can feel overwhelming, scary, or just completely unknown — and that’s exactly why we’re here. 💛

At Gateshead Recovery Partnership, we take a person‑centred care approach, making sure everything is as comfortable, supportive, and tailored to you as possible. No judgment. No pressure. Just people who genuinely want to help.

If you watched the reel, you’ll see how warm, knowledgeable and reassuring Collin is — a natural on camera and even better in person. We’re very lucky to have him on the team. 🌟

If you’d like more information, want to chat, or feel ready to take that first step, you can reach us anytime:

📢 Community Safety Message: Pregabalin – Please Take a Moment to Read📢

We’re sharing this harm minimisation message again after further reports of non‑fatal overdoses in the area. Our priority is keeping everyone in our community safe and informed.

Pregabalin is a prescription medication for conditions such as epilepsy, nerve pain, and anxiety. However, there has been a rise in misuse locally and across the UK, which brings serious risks including extreme drowsiness, confusion, breathing difficulties, dependence, and overdose — especially when mixed with other depressants like alcohol, opioids or benzodiazepines.

Many people don’t realise that tolerance to Pregabalin can build very quickly, and that stopping suddenly can lead to dangerous withdrawal symptoms.

💛 If you or someone you know is using Pregabalin, here are some harm‑reduction tips:
💊 Avoid mixing with other substances, especially alcohol, benzos or opioids — this is when most medical emergencies occur.
💊 Start low and go slow — wait at least 2 hours before taking more.
💊 Know your dose — capsules range from 25mg to 300mg. Illicit tablets may be inaccurate.
💊 Don’t suddenly stop — withdrawal can be dangerous; reduce slowly with medical support.
💊 Use in a safe environment and avoid driving or operating machinery, as effects can last many hours.

📢 Need support? We’ve made getting help simple.
At Gateshead Recovery Partnership, you can refer yourself or someone you know (as long as they’re aware and have consented).

Here’s how to reach us:
📞 Call us: 0191 594 7821
💻 Online referral: www.cgl.org.uk/gatesheadrecoverypartnership
🚶 Walk in: 47 Jackson Street, Gateshead, NE8 1EE
No judgement. No hassle. Just support when you need it.
Reach out today — we’re here to help. 💛

If someone becomes unwell after taking Pregabalin, call 999 immediately. Trust your instincts — acting quickly can save a life.

💖 Our Amazing Community – We Need You Again! 💖

We want to start by saying a massive THANK YOU for the kindness and community spirit you showed during our last clothing drive. Your generosity truly made a difference, and we’re so grateful for every single donation. 🫶

We’re reaching out again because we’re running short of clothing in service, and we’re launching another clothing drive to support the people who rely on us. Giving back is what keeps our community strong — and you’ve proven time and time again how powerful that spirit can be. 💛

👕🧤 What We Need Most Right Now:
• Gloves, scarves & hats
• Winter coats & warm clothes
• Shoes & accessories
• Toiletries
• Items for both men & women
These items make a huge difference, especially during the colder months. ❄️

But we’re also open to all donations in clean, wearable and useable condition — if someone else can benefit from it, we would love to give it a new home.

✨ Your donations directly support people in our local community, helping them stay warm, feel valued, and move forward with confidence.

If you’d like to donate or get involved, please get in touch:

🌙 Ramadan Begins on 17th February – We’re Here to Support You 🌙

As Ramadan approaches, we want to remind everyone who uses our services that we’re here to help you observe this month safely, comfortably, and with confidence.

If you’ll be fasting or adjusting your routine for prayer, please let us know how we can support you. This may include:

✨ Tailoring your care
We can review medication timings or treatment plans to ensure they fit around fasting and prayer. Our clinical leads will support any changes needed.

✨ Contacting you at the right time
We’ll take prayer times, the start of the fast, and the time to break fast into account. Just tell us when it works best for you.

✨ Knowing what’s safe during fasting
Some clinical procedures do not break the fast, including:
• Injections (IV, IM, intracardiac, intraosseous, intradermal, subcutaneous)
• Thumb‑prick or IV blood tests
• Ear and eye drops (unless the eardrum is perforated)

If you’d like to discuss support during Ramadan, please get in touch — we’re here for you 🤝💙

Wishing everyone observing a peaceful and blessed Ramadan. 🌙✨

Everyone’s recovery journey is unique, and your story could be the spark that gives someone else the courage to take their next step. When we share our experiences — the challenges, the breakthroughs, the moments of hope — we remind others that change is possible.

Your voice has the power to:
✨ Encourage someone who feels alone
✨ Break down stigma
✨ Show that recovery looks different for everyone
✨ Offer real hope from real people

If you’re comfortable and would like to be part of something meaningful, we’d love to hear from you.

💛 Let’s inspire others together.
