Thanks to everyone who came along to our charity event, Light Up a Life tonight. More than 170 stars were dedicated this year in memory of loved ones.

We were glad to have Jill Halfpenny with us to switch on the lights, and to hear the Gateshead Health Choir alongside our chaplaincy team. The new tree will now be a permanent place for people to return to each winter.

We appreciate everyone who helped make the evening happen, including Robertson Construction, High Felling Post Office and its customers, QE Facilities estates and catering teams, COOP Funeralcare, Gateshead Council transport and culture teams, Gateshead Libraries digital team, DP Groundworks and all who sponsored a star this year.

Tonight is the night to Light Up A Life.

Join us at the Queen Elizabeth (QE) Hospital Gateshead for our Light Up A Life Service.

This evening is dedicated to remembering and celebrating the lives of our lost loved ones. Come together with the community, staff, and families for a poignant and uplifting event.

What's Happening Tonight:

⭐ Remembrance Service next to our Christmas tree of stars.
⭐ Performance by the Trust Choir.
⭐ The Hospital Festive Lights Switch-On.
⭐ Complimentary refreshments.

We look forward to sharing this special evening with you and honouring those who lit up our lives.

🕯️ Join us for our Light Up A Life event.

Our Light Up A Life Service is a chance for staff, patients, families, and friends to come together to remember and celebrate loved ones who are no longer with us.

What to expect on the evening:

A remembrance Service centred around our beautiful tree of stars.
A performance by the Trust Choir.
The hospital festive lights switch-on, marking the start of the festive season.
Complimentary refreshments.

This free event is a special way to celebrate the lives of lost loved ones during the festive season.

What a heartwarming story! ✨ Our recent raffle raised an incredible £2,035 for the St Bede’s Unit, which provides end-of-life care at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Gateshead.

The lucky winner, Jamie, was so delighted he donated an extra £50 to the cause! 🤩

A massive thank you to Jamie and to everyone who bought a ticket. Your generosity will help us provide comfort and support to patients and their families during difficult times.

We're so grateful for the incredible generosity of Sue Brierley, owner of The Gables glamping site, who donated a luxurious weekend stay as the prize for our latest raffle! 👏

Sue donated the prize in memory of her sister, Karen, who received care at the St Bede’s Unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Gateshead. The raffle raised an amazing £2,035 to help the unit go above and beyond for patients and their families.

Thank you, Sue, for your kindness and for helping us make a real difference to the lives of those we care for. ❤️
