This is something we hear far more often than you might expect.

People often come to us feeling like they’ve done all the right things, yet something still isn’t quite working the way they hoped.

At Lekker, chiropractic care is about understanding how your body is moving, how different areas are interacting, and where things may be under strain or compensating. Rather than focusing on one area in isolation, care is guided by how the body works as a whole.

At Lekker Chiropractic, care isn’t about just using one technique or fitting you into a set plan.

It’s about understanding what your body needs right now, and choosing the support that makes the biggest difference for you.

Some people need support with movement and joint function, so their body can move and adapt more easily.
Some need focused tissue support, especially when an area has been slow to settle, feels reactive, or progress has stalled.
Many benefit from a combination over time, as their body responds and changes.

That’s why we offer chiropractic care, laser therapy, and shockwave therapy. Not because more is better, but because bodies are different, and recovery isn’t one-size-fits-all.

The aim is always the same: to help you move more comfortably, feel more confident in your body, and understand the choices being made along the way.

Shockwave therapy is most commonly used for tendon-related and soft tissue conditions that have been slow to settle and are affecting everyday movement.

This includes issues such as plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, tennis or golfer’s elbow, shoulder tendon problems, and other persistent soft tissue discomfort.

Shockwave works by delivering targeted mechanical pulses to the affected area, helping to stimulate circulation and support the body’s natural healing response. For many people, this can help reduce sensitivity, improve comfort, and make movement feel easier over time.

It’s often considered when symptoms linger, when progress has plateaued, or when a different type of tissue support may help. Shockwave therapy can be used on its own, or alongside chiropractic care, depending on what’s most appropriate for you.

What chiropractors assess beyond pain

Pain is often what brings people in, but it’s rarely the whole story. When we assess someone, we don’t just focus on where it hurts.
We look at how the body is moving, how joints are functioning, posture, and how different areas are working together. This helps us understand what may be contributing to the problem, not just where symptoms are felt.

We also consider how the nervous system is responding, as it plays a role in movement, coordination, and how the body adapts over time. Chiropractic care focuses on supporting these underlying processes so the body can function more comfortably, rather than simply chasing symptoms.

You may have noticed something new in the clinic.

As part of our ongoing commitment to thoughtful, well-considered care, we’ve introduced laser therapy as an option within chiropractic visits, where it’s appropriate.

Laser therapy isn’t a replacement for chiropractic care.
Hands-on adjustments remain at the heart of what we do.

Instead, laser can be used alongside chiropractic care to help support the body’s natural healing processes, particularly in areas that feel stubborn, sensitive, or slow to settle.

It may be used for some people, in some situations, and not at every visit.
That decision is always guided by your examination findings, your progress, and what your body needs at that point in time.

As always, your care is never templated.
Everything we do is tailored to you.

Physical stress
