And the honest answer is — we cannot determine that without a proper clinical assessment.

Skin removal is not automatically required after lipoedema liposuction. It depends entirely on skin elasticity and tissue quality.

Every patient’s skin responds differently. Factors such as age, progression of lipoedema, collagen strength, hormonal influences, weight loss prior to the surgery and how long the tissue has been stretched all play a role.

Immediately after surgery, temporary laxity can occur due to swelling and tissue adjustment. This does not mean skin removal is necessary.

The ability of the skin to retract can only be evaluated by a qualified doctor during examination.

Clinical assessment comes first.
Individualised treatment planning follows.
