My job. And sometimes I have to pinch myself when I think about it.

In the words of Chris Burgess . My aim of every session is to leave people better than where I found them.

A PT session (in my eyes) is way more than just sets and reps, chats on nutrition and hydration.

It's about getting to know that person. Elevate their day and make them leave feeling better than when they walked in.

Banter, deep meaningful chats, support, belly laughs, therapy. Whatever it entails. I sometimes think it's mad that I get to build a career spending my days with a smashing bunch of people

How often have things not quite gone to plan and you've sacked off the rest of the week?

Being able to adapt our schedules and routines so that we can still achieve our goals is a vital element of consistency.

Learning that if we don't make the gym or close that apple exercise ring on a Monday that it doesn't just put hault to the whole week ahead.

Rather, how can we make space on our Tuesday or remainder of the week to tick the boxes.

Life is linear and life won't always go to plan (dont we know it) but there will always be a way to get something in...

3 things you can try are

1. Make a contingency plan before things go off plan... OK, So if I don't train on Monday, when will my session be instead?

2. Shift the 'all or nothing' mentality. Know that one good session is better than nothing at all.

3. Shorten your workouts. If time is a factor Superset the exercises or Pop a time limit on them to ensure you get a speedy session in.

Come to the gym with us.
Staying consistent with exercise is hard, but it's made even harder when you've got a little one to care for.
Bringing him with me has meant I can stay consistent with my routine and connected to like minded people.
Do my workouts look like they did before he was born? Absolutely not. But I wouldn't change them for the world. Stopping mid set to put the dummy back in, a cuddle in-between rounds or just staying in his eyeline so he can watch.
I want him to see how prioritising your health is essential. I want him to see me working out, cooking healthy meals and enjoying the outdoors as much as possible. I want him to see the importance of taking care of your body both inside and out.
The reasons above are what keep me going week in week out....
What's your motivation?

Are you an 'all or nothing' thinker??

All-or-nothing thinking often means that anything less than 'perfect' is perceived as a failure.Having these incredibly unattainable standards sets you up to feel like a failure.

All-or-nothing thinking keeps you stuck. Constantly yo-yo-ing from one extreme to another, flipping from restriction to binge eating or inactivity to over-doing at the gym.

And the main one - from feeling motivated and excited to feeling like it's not even worth trying.

Do you miss one workout and think 'eff it, I not bother this week!!'

You are not the problem. All-or-nothing thinking is the problem, and it's probably holding you back.

You don't need to change yourself, but trying to alter your thinking of 'all-or-nothing' is a good place to start.

- Awareness is key. Are you aware you think this way?
- Reminding yourself that any movement is good.
- Reminding yourself that you do not have to be perfect or complete things 100%.
- Trying your best, is better than not trying at all.

I'm fully aware my workouts and exercise routine is not going to be smooth sailing like it used to be. So I'm reminding myself of those points above. Congratulating myself when I manage to do a workout and not aiming for perfection.

37 weeks pregnant today ✨

Today I'm classed as 'full term' and bubs could make his appearance anyday now.. eek!!!

At 37 weeks pregnant I'm still training 4/5 times per week (extremely grateful as I know not everyone can do this due to the many many issues pregnancy brings)

Honestly, I massively attribute my healthy pregnancy to moving daily. Moving everyday has helped me pretty much maintain my fitness levels and avoid things like lower back pain or hip pain...

I also attribute it to a strong mindset. I knew when I became pregnant that things were going to have to change, I couldn't keep striving to do more, rather I needed to make peace of where I was at and adapt accordingly...however I was determined not to stop.

I kept a log of my training over the past 9 months (months 6-9 featured here) to keep myself accountable, and look back upon once bubs Is here, but ive also kept this log to inspire others... Training throughout your pregnancy is 100% doable.. and if you feel up to it.. then I highly encourage you to keep going.

A happy and healthy pregnancy is one we all strive for.

100KG DEADLIFT PBπŸŽ‰

Another 100kg deadlift PB in the bag.

It was Susan's goal (or maybe mine πŸ˜…) for her to hit a 100kg deadlift before I finished up.

Her last session and she nailed it!! πŸ’ͺ

I screamed with delight after this and was told that this was my parting gift! 🀣

So proud of you ❀️πŸ”₯

Hitting up your Tuesday with another amazing achievement for Jordana last week.

We've been working on her press ups for a while. I'm a bit of a stickler for a proper push up (none of this wide hand position and only moving 2cm up and downπŸ™…β€β™€οΈ)

Proper form & proper full body tension πŸ‘Œ

So proud of everything Jordana has achieved so far. We are almost coming up on our 1 year anniversary πŸŽ‰

Starting Monday off with a big win of last week for

After weeks of perseverance and determination she mastered her unassisted pull up.

How did we achieve this?

Each week we spent a dedicated time focused on this goal.
We started using multiple resistance bands and slowly each week we reduced the assistance the bands were providing her. We also worked on controlling the eccentric movement and slowing the reps down to make her muscles work even harder.

Proud doesn't even come close to how we all felt for Rachael (listen to that cheer!)

Just goes to show that staying consistent really does work πŸ’ͺ

HAPPY 4 YEARS TO RHIANNON TODAY!

Rhiannon has overhauled her entire life in 4 years. 4 years ago she was
feeling tired, unhappy and severely lacking in confidence and now is feeling energized, motivated, happy and comfortable in her own skin.

She came in feeling a little bit self conscious and unsure about the idea of personal training after the birth of her baby but 1 positive first session and the rest is history.

Rhiannon never thought she could get to a place where she felt fit, healthy and strong or that she could change her lifestyle to a healthy one but we've done it, and Rhiannon's weekly PT sessions are a cornerstone in this amazing lifestyle transformation.

Rhiannon has since had another beautiful baby girl and continued to train the entire way through her pregnancy, right up until 39 weeks.

Rhiannon now strength trains at least twice a week at her own gym whilst attending an additional PT session with another 3 amazing ladies.

She has completely transformed her diet from bingeing on sugary snacks to balanced and nutritious meals. The most important thing is she has built on these small healthy habits so that they are now so deeply engrained that they are part of her life for good now. Fitness is now part of her lifestyle - something she didn't think would happen.

I'm grateful for the networking event that brought me and Rhiannon together 4 whole years ago.... we have become great friends and she is one of my biggest cheerleaders.

Fun Fact: Rhiannon is also the person who makes me look very professional in my website photos ;)

4 weeks today will be my last day before I stop for maternity leave.
Part of me is super excited to begin this new chapter as a family of 5 πŸ€°πŸ•ΊπŸ•πŸ•πŸ‘Άit's going to be a whole new experience!
However, part of me is sad that I'm not going to see my clients every week. Sad that I'm pressing pause on a business I've build from absolutely nothing to one that's sustained a global pandemic.
Some of these clients I've seen every single week for 4 whole years and I'm really going to miss the interaction we have. I'll miss the conversations about their day/kids/jobs. I'll miss seeing them hit PBs, climbing Monroe's and walking down the aisle feeling on top of the world.
I have 6 clients celebrating 4 year PT anniversaries and 6 clients celebrating 3 PT anniversaries with me this year. Relationships like that are hard to replace, but I just know we will keep in touch.
So.... I have 4 weeks left before I slow down to prepare for my newest client πŸ‘ΆπŸΌ what do you want to see here in these next 4 weeks? 🀍
