18th April Hallie had the important meeting with the Physio team at the Evelina to talk about her feet and ankles.

The team had decided to go down the route of serial casting and managed to make contact with hallies team at snapdragons.
We had to do stretches with hallies ankles to make the process easier but it was still painful for her but she soldiered on! ❤️❤️❤️

What you see here are Hallie’s Chest X-ray.
The Dr and I were comparing the X-ray from June 2022 to November 2022.

He was of the kind that Hallie has had pneumonia for quite some time but due to the recurrent chest infections it masked the other symptoms.

If you don’t know what you are looking for, the chest infection and pneumonia are the white speckles seen around the white mass (the heart) very faint but still visible are black masses which is the infection.

Next study will be to compare these two images next to the X-ray from Thursday when she was admitted 🫁

Finally home, with the diagnosis of Lower lobe pneumonia.

Antibiotics will do there job now, along side her other medications, physio therapy and asthma pumps. But more importantly after nearly a two year battle she is OFFICALLY a red card holder.

Fingers crossed we won’t have to use it but now it is in place, all we have to do is take her to the ward and they will assess her, no more waiting in a germ filled room with over 30 poorly children that could possibly infect Hallie with something worse. We will be able to be safe and protect her from any extra bugs.

The team were brilliant, the staff were so friendly. Clare, Ritchie, Steph, Sam and Rebecca were all fantastic and I couldn’t thank them enough. ❤️

They’ve organised all the follow ups, made sense of referrals that weren’t in place yet. It is now time to move forward instead of backwards.

Monday afternoon, we were told no more IV medication, now just to oral medication which meant her IV meds did what they needed to do and she was on the mend.

Hallie was in need of a serious bath. 🛁

She had an incredibly cheesy hand and was so sticky from being so hot from her temperature from Thursday to Sunday.

Here is the glamorous Hallie🧖🏼‍♀️

We were told by the physio team to get her moving as movement would encourage the phlegm to come away and when she cough it would come away with much more ease.

So as you can see this is what we did.

When Hallie coughs, unfortunately because of her hypotonia it’s very weak due to lack of muscle. But with the help of the movements we can do it’s helped to shift some mucus along with a good old nebuliser. 🫁👍🏼

Hallie was so much happier by Sunday morning.

Still had to have IV antibiotics but she was an absolute superstar, only caused a fuss when she was tired (naturally)

She made a tonne of new friends whilst staying there. Waved at everyone she could, blew plenty of kisses to her neighbours to make them feel better and just spread her happiness throughout the ward. ❤️

Hallie had a difficult time breathing so was put on 5 litres of 28% oxygen this was Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Sunday morning her consultants took her off of her oxygen and got her to do 8 nebuliser throughout the day to see if it would encourage sound from her lower lobe. 🫁

The nurses, clinicians and Dr’s have been amazing. 🏅

Step and learn and helping Hallie make the use out of both her hands as she tends to use just her right hand as it’s stronger ❤️
