Last night, colleagues at our centre enjoyed a brilliant dose of movement and motivation thanks to our very own Governance Manager turned Zumba instructor Kat Drummond.

This week we are proud to be recognising Neurodiversity Week.

A huge thank you to Gemma Collier for transforming our staff kitchen into a hub of learning and awareness. Throughout the week, colleagues have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of neurodiversity through interactive VR workshops, as well as daily facts and knowledge sharing.

These activities allow our teams to experience, first-hand, some of the perspectives of neurodiverse individuals, helping to build greater awareness, empathy and inclusivity across our workplace.

Today we are proud to celebrate International Women’s Day and recognise the incredible women who make up such a vital part of our team at Practice Plus Group Surgical Centre, Gillingham.

This year’s theme, “Give to Gain”, is a powerful reminder that by supporting, mentoring and uplifting one another, we all grow stronger together. Across our centre, we see this every day, from experienced clinicians sharing their knowledge, to colleagues supporting one another through busy surgical lists and working collaboratively to ensure every patient receives outstanding care.

The women across our surgical centre play an essential role in delivering safe, compassionate and high-quality healthcare. Their expertise, dedication and teamwork not only make a difference to our patients, but also help create an environment where others can learn, grow and succeed.

As part of our continued commitment to expanding high-quality surgical services for patients across Kent and Medway, we are pleased to share that Practice Plus Group Surgical Centre, Gillingham is now offering laparoscopic hernia repair. 🎉

Performed by our Medical Director and General Surgeon, Mr Richard Dickson-Lowe.
Mr Dickson-Lowe says:
"This enhancement to our service means that patients who would previously have required transfer to our sister hospital in Ilford can now receive their care locally in Gillingham. Laparoscopic repair offers well-established clinical benefits, including reduced post-operative pain, shorter recovery time and an earlier return to normal daily activities" 🙌💜

Our hospital specialises in minor orthopaedic surgery including foot surgery, hand and wrist surgery, shoulder and elbow surgery, general surgery, endoscopy treatments and eye surgery.

We also offer patients the option to pay for their own treatment if they are not eligible for NHS-funded care or do not have private health insurance.
