This week marks International Infection Prevention and Control Week and this year’s theme encourages us all to “Stand UPPP for Infection Prevention”, highlighting four key pillars:
- Unite
- Protect
- Prevent
- Prevail
Each day this week, our site has focused on one pillar and today’s focus is Protect.
In healthcare, protection starts with the basics. Consistently practising hand hygiene, using personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly, and supporting each other to maintain the highest standards of infection control.
Another vital way we protect one another is through annual flu vaccinations. Today’s drop-in flu clinic saw an excellent turnout — with our General Manager Deborah Anderson leading by example at the front of the queue. A great demonstration of leadership in action and commitment to keeping colleagues and patients safe.
