✨🎄 A truly magical evening at Fern Brook Lodge! 🎄✨

Last night our home was filled with festive cheer as we gathered for our Mince Pie & Mulled Wine Evening, and we were joined by some very special guests… including the main man himself, Santa! 🎅❤️

But the magic didn’t stop there... This year, our wonderful residents, families, and team have been busy fundraising for Teddy20, a Dorset-based children’s cancer charity founded in memory of Ted Newton. Teddy20’s incredible journey began with a small fundraiser and has grown into the amazing Teddy Rocks Festival, helping support children and families in truly meaningful ways. 💛🐻

We were honoured to welcome representatives from Teddy20, who joined us to receive a cheque for the amount we’ve raised together over the year. Seeing the joy, pride, and community spirit in the room was truly heartwarming.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, baked, sang, sipped, or simply showed up with love in their hearts. You’ve helped make a real difference. 💕

✨ Christmas Switch-On at Fern Brook Lodge ✨

The festive season has officially begun, and what a magical start it was! Residents, families, and friends gathered together for our annual Christmas lights switch-on, filling the lodge with warmth, joy, and festive cheer. 🎄✨

We were especially thrilled to welcome Paul Atterbury from the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow, who joined us to celebrate this special moment. His presence added an extra touch of charm to the evening and helped make it a truly memorable start to Christmas at Fern Brook Lodge.

✨🎄 Christmas has officially begun at Fern Brook Lodge! 🎄✨

Yesterday afternoon, our lovely ladies enjoyed a wonderfully creative clay-modelling session. We were delighted to be joined by Debbie from Creative Clay, who guided everyone in crafting their very own Christmas penguins and robins for their relatives.

There was plenty of laughter, lots of mess, and some truly magical masterpieces made! 🐧❤️🎀

🚶🏽‍➡️The team at Fern Brook Lodge collectively walked 50 miles on a treadmill in the home’s reception area to raise money for Children in Need🚶🏽‍➡

⭐ Various team members, visitors, and relatives of our Gillingham home’s residents took it in turns to put in the miles on the treadmill in aid of the good cause.

❤️ They were cheered on by some of the home’s residents, as well as visitors who had joined Fern Brook Lodge’s weekly Memory Café event, held in partnership with Age UK North, South & West Dorset.

Rosemary, who lives in the home, said: “It was fun. Charity begins at home and the Fern Brook Lodge team were very eager to take part. It certainly brought a smile to my face.”

Dorothy, who also lives at Fern Brook Lodge, said: “The team are wonderful. They are so dedicated to helping others.”

💗 Activities are taking place across our homes today in aid of Children in Need, the BBC’s annual appeal which aims to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people around the UK.

🎶 1940s Day at Fern Brook Lodge! 🎩✨

Earlier this week, Fern Brook Lodge was transported back in time for a delightful 1940s-themed celebration! Our staff embraced the spirit of the era, dressing in fabulous vintage attire that brought the decade to life.

Guests enjoyed an afternoon of nostalgic entertainment, headlined by the incredibly talented Victoria Starr, whose captivating renditions of 1940s classics filled the air with charm, melody, and memories. 💃🕺

It was truly a heart warming celebration of style, song, and timeless joy. 💖

🌷 Gardening Club Fun at Fern Brook Lodge! 🌷

Today, our Gardening Club got their hands delightfully dirty with a creative bulb lasagne planting activity! Layer by layer, residents arranged a beautiful mix of spring-flowering bulbs in deep pots, creating a “lasagne” of colour that will bloom in succession as the seasons change.

We can’t wait to see the vibrant bursts of colour that will brighten up our gardens in the months to come! 🌼🌿💛

🌈🎉 What a Day at Fern Brook Lodge! 🎉🌈

Fern Brook Lodge was bursting with colour, laughter, and nostalgia as we celebrated a spectacular Butlins-themed day! 🎪✨

We were thrilled to be joined by our wonderful friends from Buxton House and Maiden Castle, and from the moment the festivities began, the atmosphere was absolutely electric! ⚡

Our amazing team donned the iconic Butlins red coats, bringing all the charm, cheer, and classic entertainment vibes of the holiday camps we all know and love. ❤️🎤

The smiles said it all, a day filled with music, dancing, and pure joy for our residents. We truly captured the Butlins magic! 🥳🎶

Their creativity blossomed into stunning displays, now proudly brightening up the lounge with colour and charm. 💐✨

Last week at our Memory Café, we were thrilled to welcome Jan, whose passion for fashion brought a vibrant spark to our gathering! ✨ As we sipped tea and shared stories, Jan took us on a wonderful journey through the decades, from the swing of poodle skirts and elegance of tailored suits to the rebellious charm of leather jackets. 🕺👗

We reminisced about dressing up for dances, flipping through catalogues with excitement, and the pride of wearing something handmade. Such beautiful memories shared and cherished together! 💖

🌼🎶 Peace, Love & Rock 'n' Roll at Fern Brook Lodge! 🎶🌼

We turned back time this week as Fern Brook Lodge embraced the spirit of the Swingin’ Sixties with our groovy 60s festival! 💃🕺

The cheerful rhythm of the Two Hats Band had everyone tapping their feet, while our amazing staff dressed in their grooviest sixties outfits... bell bottoms, tie-dye, headbands and all! 🌈✌️

Residents danced the afternoon away, surrounded by laughter, colour, and that unmistakable 60s vibe. There was a buzz of excitement in the air, and smiles were everywhere, a true reminder that music really does have the power to lift spirits. ❤️

As resident Dorothy put it:
“I had a fantastic time… and yes, I even danced too!” 💫

We were thrilled to welcome Paul Wheelers Punch and Judy Show to our home, bringing with it a wave of laughter, nostalgia, and classic seaside charm. 🌊☀️

Residents, staff, and visiting relatives came together for an afternoon of lively puppetry, cheeky humour, and those colourful characters that have delighted generations. ❤️

The performance sparked cherished memories and created brand new ones, with smiles, laughter, and joy shared by all. It was a truly heartwarming experience... and one we won’t soon forget!
