Essentially Yours 💜 We love helping people discover the power of pure essential oils. So we started looking around – and found a company quite new to Europe called dōTERRA.

Our goal is to educate, inspire, and share how natural solutions can support your health and wellbeing. We had a history of working within direct marketing for 22 years, but had become disillusioned with our previous company. We had never heard of them before – but were amazed at what we were hearing…

A company that sold ‘essential oils’, we have to admit did not initially appeal, However, it intrigued us how they had grown to be the number one essential oil company in the world within just 9 short years. Why are they so successful, well we saw straight away it was down to the quality of their products. We tried the products ourselves and could not believe the immediate improvement to not only our health, but to those friends and associates we shared these products with. That was back in 2017 - now and I’m glad to say we have helped personally to share these wonderful, amazing oils with over 11,000 people across 50+ different countries worldwide. dōTERRA really is changing lives, one drop, one person, one community at a time.

A double-blind, randomized controlled clinical trial compared the benefits of ingesting lavender EO (softgel providing 80 mg/day; about two drops) against sertraline (Zoloft; 50 mg/day; an antidepressant medication) for mild-to-moderate major depressive disorder. A placebo group was also included. Both the lavender EO and sertraline produced significantly greater reductions in depression severity according to the Montgomery–Åsberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS) when compared with placebo. Response rates were 53–54% for the lavender EO and sertraline versus 41.5% for placebo, and remission rates were 44–45% versus 32.6%. The lavender EO also significantly improved functional impairment on the Sheehan Disability Scale. Both treatments were well tolerated; with only EO burp back being the most common undesirable effect of the lavender EO. These findings demonstrate that ingested lavender EO is an effective, well-tolerated treatment for mild-to-moderate depression, comparable to sertraline.
