Groomers seek out individuals who have a certain vulnerability. They find out your strengths and your weaknesses and use it to manipulate you into doing what they want. ⠀⠀

They start with befriending, using anything they can to build that false connection with you. Then move on to supply you with drink and other mind altering substances, making it easier for them to gain control.

Many victims of abuse only come to realise they have been abused years later when they have developed into adulthood or during therapy. ⠀
⠀
Being a young person it can seem as though you have the world figured out already. Abusers look for this too - hyper independence. ⠀

Do not tell me cold exposure is BAD for WOMEN. ⠀

Although I work in wellness… I absolutely experience chronic stress. I run a house on my own, take care of three young children and I’m self employed. The stress I deal with on a daily basis is VERY real. For most of my life I was in a chronic state of fight/flight. My anxiety was through the roof and I wasn’t able to gain control over my mind and body. Getting into icy water taught me how to breathe correctly and regain that control. ⠀

When learned correctly and safely this can and is an incredible tool for women to use, not only for increasing our tolerance to stress but also training our mind and bodies to have a more positive response to stress when it comes up. ⠀
⠀
It’s not all about getting that high and feeling a buzz, so much more is happening below the surface at a cellular level. ⠀
⠀
It’s incredible!⠀
⠀
What works for one may not work for another but can we please stop saying it’s bad for women when thousands of testimonies and scientific data says otherwise. ⠀
