As many of our patients will know, our current Counter Assistant will be leaving us after securing a role related to her degree. We are incredibly proud of her and want to thank her for her hard work dedication and kindness to our patients. She has been a valued member of the Pollokshields Pharmacy team and we wish her every success in this next chapter 💐

With this in mind, we are now looking for a full-time Counter Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team.

📢 Important Update to Our Opening Hours

We are trialing new weekday closing hours of 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. Our Saturday hours remain 9am to 1pm.

This small adjustment helps our team manage prescriptions more efficiently and maintain a safe, consistent standard of patient care throughout the day.

Managing your weight can be challenging, but you don’t have to do it alone. At Pollokshields Pharmacy, our pharmacist-led Weight Management Clinic provides personalised, confidential support designed to help you achieve safe and sustainable results.

If your BMI is 27 or above with a health condition, or 30 and above without, you may be eligible for treatment as part of your tailored weight management plan.

During your consultation, our pharmacist will:
• Assess your BMI, blood pressure, and general health
• Discuss your goals and medical history
• Offer personalised lifestyle and dietary advice
• Provide information on clinically proven treatment options, when appropriate
• Arrange regular follow-up appointments to monitor your progress and support long-term success

Our NHS flu vaccine service will commence from 6th October. Please call us on 0141 429 1919 or email us at pollokshieldspharmacy@gmail.com to book your appointment.

Those eligible for the NHS flu vaccine are as follows

Adult Programme:
• Those living in long-stay residential care homes or other long-stay care facilities

• All those aged 65 and over

• All those aged 18 to under 65 in defined risk groups. This includes:
- Those in clinical 'at risk' groups set out in Green Book Chapter 19;
- Those experiencing homelessness;
- Those experiencing substance misuse;
- Asylum Seekers living in Home Office hotel or B&B accommodation;
- All prisoners within the Scottish Prison Estate;
- Pregnant women

• Frontline Health & Social Care Workers

• Non-frontline NHS workers

• Poultry workers & bird keepers

• Unpaid Carers and young Carers

• Household contacts of those with immunosuppression

• Patients accessing the pharmacy for Op**te Substitution Therapy (OST) and/or Injecting Equipment.
