Help2Cope Counselling & Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Qualified Cognitive Behavioural and Group Therapist, based in Glasgow and offering online video therapy. Get in touch on help2cope@outlook.com.

Welcome to Help2Cope Counselling and CBT and thanks for reading this far! My name is Vanya and I am a fully qualified Cognitive Behavioural and Group Therapist, based in Glasgow and offering in-person and online video therapy. I also offer the option of reduced prices as I believe mental health support should be accessible. I understand how daunting it may be to take that first step as I’ve been there myself. My approach focuses on building a safe therapeutic relationship, where we can work together as a team to establish goals specific to your unique needs at this time, and to help you live your life more authentically and in line with your values. Through regular check-ins, we will ensure that our progress aligns with your expectations and aspirations. In me, you will find an authentic human being first, and a therapist second, because I believe it’s important to be genuine, accepting, empathetic and warm, so you can feel comfortable and safe to explore your difficulties. I will show my personality in sessions and I hope to see yours, too. Something I am happy to share is that I am a pretty outdoorsy person, because I've found that it does wonders for my own wellbeing and self-care. I have a professional registration with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which means I am on their Professional Standards Authority Accredited Register. This ensures that I work to the highest standard and practice in line with the ethical code of conduct. The therapeutic treatments and interventions I use are recommended by the National Institute for Health Care and Excellence (NICE) and supported by scientific research. This is because it's important to keep you safe in our work. By incorporating these proven techniques into your individually tailored treatment plan, we can effectively address your concerns and work towards sustainable positive change. If you would like to find out more, you're welcome to book a free 10-minute introductory call or drop me an email on help2cope@outlook.com and we can arrange an initial assessment session. This will give both of us an opportunity to hear more about each other and see if we are a suitable fit. Take the courageous step towards growth and well-being. Join me on this transformative journey, where together, we can navigate the challenges you face and empower you to live a more fulfilling life.

What’s in your stress bucket?
If it’s overflowing, it might be worth considering therapy. You might be struggling with being assertive, setting clear boundaries, and saying ‘no’.

Humans are creatures of comfort, no doubt. But the only constant thing in life is change. If we don’t learn to tolerate and even embrace the discomfort that change brings, we may struggle with anxiety and stress. Research has shown that the more we avoid something, the higher our levels of anxiety will be about the avoided things or situations.

Feeling nervous or afraid when experiencing change is natural. It means you’re leaving your comfort zone and growing. But if this discomfort is so unbearable that it makes you want to pull back, run away, and hide, then it may be worth exploring and seeking treatment for anxiety.

I am currently offering online video therapy sessions on Zoom (adults only). I have limited availability on Wednesday and Thursdays, and I would love to hear from you. Get in touch on help2cope@outlook.com to find out more 🤍

I often see people come to therapy with certain expectations. I think films and tv have sometimes shown therapy as a “magical fix” - a character goes to see a therapist once and all their problems are resolved, so the narrative can move along.
I WISH, I truly wish there was a “magic fix”. As someone who has trained to be a therapist after being in therapy myself, I remember sitting in my first therapist’s chair and hoping she would take all the pain away and I would never feel discomfort again. I remember my own disappointment, and so, I empathise deeply with clients who come into my therapy room and express a similar disappointment that therapy is not about “fixing” them but unlearning what’s unhelpful and learning to tolerate what has been avoided or has felt unbearable before. I won’t sugarcoat it. Therapy is work, perhaps the hardest work you might undertake in your life. It’s a team effort. We will sit with the pain together and we will work out the “why” and the “when” and the “how” and the “what” together. But once you leave the therapy room, the work continues without me, so that you can learn yourself, from experience, that you CAN manage, that you are stronger than you think, and that you don’t need to be “fixed” by “magic” because you are enough and you have the power to choose to let go of what doesn’t serve you anymore and to accept what is helpful to go on.
I suppose the “magic” of therapy is the process of learning and unlearning because the mind is a magical tool, indeed, but sometimes it needs a nudge to serve us better.
