Can patients please check if your nominated pharmacy has your prescription BEFORE contacting the surgery to ask if it has been collected or not.
We have over 1700 patients, there is often only one person answering the phone. This creates a lot of extra work and can take up a lot of time when we are getting several calls like this a day. The majority of mix ups come from patients changing between collecting their prescriptions themselves or asking the chemist to collect it. Please only use one method and ALWAYS check with your nominated pharmacy before contacting the surgery. Routine prescriptions take two working days and you should bear this in mind when ordering and collecting.
Also any calls before 9:30AM should be for requesting same day call backs from the GP or nurse, not for requesting prescriptions, sicklines or checking whether or not your prescription has been collected.
We would really appreciate your co-operation with this.

September Public Holiday reminder

People across Greater Glasgow and Clyde are being reminded that GP practices and many pharmacies will be closed for the September Public Holiday on Monday 29th September.

People who need medicines regularly are encouraged to think ahead and ensure they have an appropriate supply of their repeat prescriptions, ordering only what they need, when they need it.

GP practices will be closed on 29th September and routine medications will not be issued by the GP Out of Hours service, including controlled drugs. It is important to note that this service is by appointment only.

A number of community pharmacies will be open on the 29th. Further details will be published on the NHSGGC website later this week.

Every community pharmacy in Scotland provides the Pharmacy First service, offering support and treatment for a range of minor ailments from coughs and colds to earache and heartburn.

Anyone can walk in off the street and be seen, with no appointment necessary.

Pharmacies are an important part of a range of services available to people throughout NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

For more information on the best ways to access care, please visit Right Care, Right Place - NHSGGC.

Hi everyone, there has been a lot of changes at the surgery over the past few months.
As most of you will be aware, Dr Alam retired at the end of April.
The surgery is now called Mull Medical Practice and we have some new staff -

Dr Moughal who sits on a Friday.
Dr Alvi who sits on a Monday and a Thursday.
Nurse Khan is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) who is in 5 days a week. (Some of you may already know Nurse Khan as she worked in the Practice several years ago as the Practice Nurse and has more recently covered for Dr Alam when he was on annual leave.)
Sandra is our Practice Manager.
Elaine is part of the Admin team and works in reception, Elaine has several years of experience and worked with Dr Moughal and Dr Alvi in their previous Practice.

Louise and Freya are still here.

Louise still has clinics on Tuesdays and Wednesdays but appointments now need to be booked in advance. There is no drop in anymore. She is in reception the rest of the week.

Freya now only works in the afternoons.

Amy is no longer with the Practice and is enjoying her new job.

Patients do not need to do anything, everyone registered at the Practice is still registered and the new doctors are happy to take over your care.

We now have a website www.mullmedicalpractice.co.uk which gives a lot of useful information so please feel free to familiarise yourself with it as this page will mostly only be used as a means of getting information out quickly when required.
