Wowee it's been a while since I've been on here! I thought I would pop on and share that I am now officially fully accredited member of the BABCP! I have been doing this in the background for a couple of years alongside completing a Master's Certificate in Counselling Children and Young people, so it has been a busy yin πŸ˜‚ ( apologies for the lack of posts πŸ‘€)

As always, if you require support or advice, please don't hesitate to get in contact.

THIS really resonates with me and comes up often in sessions with clients. Boundaries are so important, whether that's saying YES or NO. Doing things or trying new things that make you happy is so important and so good for you and usually that requires a YES which is cool. However, taking on too much in fear of letting others down or feeling like you NEED to behave a certain way will only cause yi more stress due to the demanding nature of it. It will be ok if you say no when you aren't feeling it. Try. It. Most likely people will understand and not be too bothered and you'll feel a lot better!

Seen this the other day and thought I would share as I thought it would be quite helpful.
We all argue at times or feel a bit p***** off with folk, it's natural, we're human!

Have a look at these tips to help you reconnect with the person afterwards instead of holding a grudge & keeping it going. After all, how exhausting is that?

It can be hard to reconnect after an argument though, especially if hurtful things have been said however trying these tips may help you to rise above it, create understanding for both parties & overall take the sting out it.

Take back control of the situation, create a safe boundary for yourself and try to be open and honest. Avoiding the person, situation or how you really feel will only make it worse! Your needs will never be met if you don't communicate them, we can't expect people to understand what we need from them all of the time, so get them telt in a nice & gentle wayπŸ‘Œ

Please give me a wee follow on Instagram if you have it πŸ™ŒπŸ˜Thanks, J🌹

*Edit*
A gentle reminder that it is Mental Health Awareness Week from the 10th to the 16th of May. I have edited this post to include mental ILLNESS as well, and quite rightly so after doing some reading and thinking.

It's important that as a society we acknowledge mental health AND mental illness. It's not just about checking in on others, going a walk or meeting a friend. It's also about paying attention to those in society who have chronic and debilitating mental health disorders and doing more as a community to fight for and support them.

I also know it can be frustrating being told to seek help when you already have and not had the service you wanted or needed, but please for any urgent mental health support please contact your local GP or NHS 24 on 111

Samaritans – 116 123

Breathing Space – 0800 83 85 87

Scottish Women`s Aid – 0800 027 1234

R**e crisis – 08088 01 03 02

Papyrus- For people aged 35 and under thinking of completing su***de or for those who are concerned someone they know is thinking about it- 01925 572 444

Your mental health and your mental illness matter.

Take care πŸ’•
