🚨 Important Bingo Update 🚨
Due to a “strict review” of Scottish gambling regulations, prize bingo at Highgate Care Home may no longer be allowed because residents have become far too competitive over chocolate bars and biscuits! 🍫🍪
Winners can now only receive: 👏 A round of applause
🤝 A handshake from staff
😄 And the honour of saying “I won!” all day
Bad news for our serious bingo players... especially those asking for a VAR review on every line call!

A huge thank you to the lovely ladies from our Monday Club church group for kindly donating these beautiful Twiddlemuffs to our residents today.

These thoughtful gifts will bring comfort, sensory stimulation and reassurance to many of our residents, especially those living with dementia.

Your kindness, time and hard work are very much appreciated by everyone here at Highgate Care Home. Thank you for thinking of us and making such a positive difference.

Kelly has done an amazing job revamping our Music Life Station 🎶
The new space is bright, welcoming and full of opportunities for residents to enjoy music in different ways, from playing instruments and singing along to reminiscing about favourite songs and artists. Music can support wellbeing, spark memories and encourage social interaction, making this a fantastic addition for everyone to enjoy.
A wonderful piece of work by Wellbeing Coordinator Kelly creating such a vibrant and engaging area for residents at Highgate Care Home.

Happy 86th Birthday to our lovely resident Ann! 🎉
Ann enjoyed celebrating her special day with a beautiful birthday cake and some sweet treats surrounded by friends. We hope you have had a wonderful day filled with love, laughter and lots of happy memories. 💖

This afternoon our residents enjoyed a lovely minibus trip to McKinnon Mills, taking time to browse the shops, enjoy a change of scenery and pick up a few treats along the way. Trips like these are a great way to support independence, social connection and wellbeing while making new memories together.

Residents enjoyed some pom pom exercises along to a Scottish singalong with Wellbeing Coordinator Elaine, getting plenty of practice in for cheering on Scotland at the next World Cup. A fun and energetic session like this helps improve coordination, mobility and team spirit while bringing lots of smiles and laughter.

Residents loved the intergenerational visit from John Paul II Primary School for morning of board games, laughter and great conversation. It was wonderful to see friendships forming across the generations, with everyone enjoying a little friendly competition and sharing plenty of smiles. These visits are always so valuable for boosting confidence, encouraging social interaction and creating special memories for both residents and pupils.

Residents enjoyed a lovely morning out on the minibus trip to the Riverside Museum. There was lots to see and talk about, from vintage cars and old trams to transport memories from years gone by. Trips like these are a great way to encourage social interaction, reminiscence and create new memories together.
