Project Ability will be running a series of Family Workshops over the Spring Holidays for disabled children and young people aged 8-20 and their families, thanks to funding from Shared Care Scotland’s Better Breaks programme.

Workshops are free and spaces are limited so we advise booking early to avoid disappointment.

There will be a morning and afternoon session each day and you can book on both sessions, giving you lots of opportunity to develop your artwork over the course of the day, or on a morning or afternoon session only, still providing lots of time to complete a piece of work.

Morning and afternoon sessions run each day from 10am-12noon and 1-3pm

· Tuesday 7th April - Butterflies and Birds - paint and print collage

· Wednesday 8th April - Felted Landscapes

· Thursday 9th April - Family Portraits

· Friday 10th April – Cyanotypes

· Tuesday 14th April - Botanical Impressions in Plaster

· Wednesday 15th April - Watercolour Fish

· Thursday 16th April - Mask Making

· Friday 17th April - Printed Bags

Bookings can be made by calling 0141 5522822 or emailing office@project-ability.co.uk

If you are unable to make your booking for any reason please let us know as soon as possible to allow us to offer the session to another family.

Over 200 artists walk through our doors every week.

That’s 200 people finding community, friendship, creative growth, and sometimes simply a conversation, a smile, or a sense of belonging when it’s needed most.

Project Ability stands for inclusion, creativity, and community for all. And right now, that community is under threat.

Across Glasgow, we’re seeing the devastating impact on our cultural spaces. For many of our artists, our studios aren’t just somewhere to make work, they are a lifeline. A place of routine, safety, and familiarity. Some have been part of this space for over a decade.

Today, we stand together.

Join us in solidarity with all organisations at Trongate 103, .theatre as we protest outside the City Property offices.

📍 Friday 27 March
⏰ 12–2pm
📌 229 George Street

Project Ability artists - meet in the T103 foyer at 11:30 if you’d like to walk over together.

Let’s show up. 🪧💪

Trongate 103 – Lease Update

We would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to share messages of support over the past few weeks. It has meant a great deal to our team and to the wider community at Trongate 103.

This has been a challenging and fast-moving situation for all tenants in the building. Over recent weeks, we have been engaging with City Property and seeking appropriate legal and professional advice to fully understand the implications of the proposed lease terms.

All tenants at Trongate 103 have now been issued with new leases, with a deadline of Friday 27 March to sign. We have had a limited timeframe to review these documents and their conditions in full.

There remain serious concerns about the longer-term impact of these changes on the sustainability of Glasgow’s arts community. As a result, we stand in solidarity with our fellow tenants and the wider arts community in raising these concerns.

A protest is taking place on:
Friday 27 March
12-2pm
229 George Street, G1 1QU

We support the collective voice of the Trongate 103 community and encourage those who wish to stand with Glasgow’s arts organisations to attend.

For our artists, participants and partners: our programme is continuing as planned, and we remain open as usual. We are continuing discussions with our board and advisors, and will share a further update on Friday afternoon.

How you can support:

– Sign the online petition (linked in our Bio)
– Attend the protest on Friday (See second image for details)
– Contact your local elected representatives
– Share messages from Trongate 103 organisations

Thank you for your continued support.

We are excited to be part of Glasgow International 2026 - the 11th edition of Scotland's biennial contemporary art festival - running from 5–21 June! 🎉

Across 18 days, the festival will enliven Glasgow with work by more than 60 artists, celebrating the city as a vital place for making, organising and experiencing contemporary art.

Free, open, and for everyone, this year’s festival brings together Glasgow International-curated commissions alongside projects selected through open call - led by artists, artist-run spaces and organisations across the city.

Project Ability will be presenting James Gladwell’s cross-stitched drawings, which vary in scale and feature intricate, colourful images drawn from James’s life and experiences. James currently creates his art at Barrington Farm in Norfolk, where his artistic talents have flourished over the years.

The full programme can be found via the website.
