Last night was the premiere of Race Across Europe in a Series 5 - 2025!
What started as just an idea to send some Series 5 users racing across Europe turned into something bigger than any of us at FOL could have imagined.
So many wheelchair users are put off travelling, and when you see so many negative stories online about how hard it is to travel with a wheelchair, it's easy to see why.
Alex wanted to show accessible travel, and particularly travel with a powered wheelchair, in a
new light, and make a fun competition over what is quite a stressful experience for many people.
The idea was born in April this year, and Alex wanted it to happen in the summer. I don’t think the team fully knew what they were saying yes to - but we all made it happen!
The team stretched far beyond the Freedom One Life team. Over 30 people were involved in making this project a success, as well as our incredible sponsors. A huge thank you again to everyone.
The four incredible people who took part in the competition each brought something completely unique to the project, and it was a real joy to see how they have grown since the race and the impact it has had on them.
We would love to do this again, bigger and better next year, and for that, we need more sponsors and a bigger team. So if you can, when the final film releases, please watch, share, and send us your thoughts. Every bit of engagement genuinely helps!
