We are proud to share that our contributions to the Early Help Recognition work have been included as part of the parenting support recommendations in the 2024-2025 Clackmannanshire Chief Social Work Officer Annual Report.

Mellow Parenting programmes achieved a 90% attendance rate and improved parental wellbeing and relationships.

How do we promote mental health at Mellow?

We work alongside families to:
🎗️ create safe spaces where parents can share openly without judgment;
⚙️ provide tools that promote mindfulness, connection, and resilience;
📹 use strength-based feedback with real videos of participants’ interactions with their children and young people to boost confidence and encourage peer support.

We support our workforce so that Practitioners are equipped to tackle stigma, support vulnerable caregivers, and break the cycle of generational trauma.

It was a trip through to Fife today for Stewart and Denise to deliver our Mellow Conversations training for some of the staff team at Fife Gingerbread.

It was a great morning of discussions and reflecting on the important skills we all show up with when working alongside children, young people and parents.

All practitioners will now have access to the resources that align with today’s training and access to the Mellow Resource bag to use when working alongside families in a group and one to one.

Last week, we had the privilege of training 10 Practitioners from The Cottage Family Centre, Fife Gingerbread, Home-Start Glenrothes, and the Early Help support teams across Fife in our Mellow Ability programme.

We’re absolutely thrilled to collaborate with these incredible organisations, all dedicated to supporting parents and their children with additional support needs to lead resilient, emotionally thriving lives.

A heartfelt thank you to Fife Council for supporting this important initiative, and to The Cottage Family Centre for so kindly hosting the training.

Together, we are building stronger, more inclusive support for families across Fife.

This week, the Mellow Team delivered Session 5 of our Mellow Growing Together programme in Falkirk.

It is great to work with the council’s family support team to help parents increase self-confidence and responsive caregiving skills to build stronger relationships with their children.

On the day, we also shared with participants our new "Check-In Resources", designed to support a positive start and prevent barriers to take part in the sessions.

Our Story

Based on up to date research, Mellow Parenting designs programmes to address gaps in current service provision which help to address social and health inequalities.

The underpinning values are based on the psychological theories of attachment, social learning and cognitive behavioural therapy and focus on improving parent-child relationships, for either male or female caregivers, from the antenatal period up to age five.

Early intervention and attuned parenting in the early years has a long term effect in all areas of a child’s development.

Our training courses provide the tools to build safe, therapeutic and confidential environments to help parents connect with their children.
