There is something very powerful and effective about group work based around love and positivity. Our culture segregates us from community and forces us to deal with life alone but it's the support and love of others that helps us heal and grow through life.

I think our soul misses the community of the tribe, the villagers that if something bad happens tell you it's not your fault and you are still loved. We need to hear this support and love when things happen so we know our self worth.

Many of us spend our lives looking for a sense of belonging, a community to be part of that is our happy place.

Community is necessary for survival and growth. Where is your happy place?

Group movement and meditation sessions are very effective and can be focused on releasing what doesn't serve you anymore and creating love and healing energy to open the heart centre to recieving.

Come along to my somatic movement classes at Life Heal Journey in Penicuik every 2nd Friday and Mulberry House in Edinburgh every 2nd Thursday. See events in previous last two posts.

Why is there a non-stop chatter going on inside most people's heads. That voice that babbles endlessly and that can talk us in or out of anything! The one that if it's proven wrong it just changes sides or shifts perspective and carries on like nothing happened. Why does it never stop? And what's the point in it? When the thoughts are negative it can cause so much anquish. We so desperately want rid of them and the more desperate we are the louder it gets. Surely the brain should be used for problem solving and logistical solutions, not incessant pointless chatter!

But we are not our thoughts, we are more than that! That negative loop is just a by-product of an imbalanced nervous system. And the positive ones are wonderful but still not who we are. We are deeper beings!

Rather than wanting rid of the chattering mind, why not become curious about it? Let's observe it. Step back and see it from another viewpoint. For a moment just notice the voice, let it talk however it wants to but don't get caught up in whether it's right, wrong, you or someone else, just observe it. See it objectively.

When we notice the mind going into overdrive try to sit back and watch it. Becoming curious and be more aware from an objective perception and something might shift. I know this seems like it could never happen but you’d be surprised how quickly you adapt to different perception. It’ll happen with practice and commitment. Take back your life and release that grip that habitual mind has on you!

I start at The Life Heal Journey this Friday morning in Penicuik. I'm really excited to be offering Somatic Experiencing and Craniosacral Therapy there every other Friday between 9am and 1pm.

It's the beginning of a new portion of my journey. For years I've tried to fit into what was around me but never properly felt like I was being true to myself or had a sense of belonging. Where does this feeling of not belonging or fitting in anywhere come from? Sometimes when our needs are not met as young people and our body holds onto that trauma our mind can create belief systems and fixed views of the world that may or may not be true. Certain things become unsafe and hold an energy deep inside.

With somatic therapies we observe how that energy shows up in the body and then we track it and see what comes up with it. This is how we work with the body. Behaviours organise around that energy and before you know it you have certain stuck belief's that you can't seem to shift or even realise are there.

How does that sense of not belonging feel in the body? What else comes up? That could be images, thoughts, feelings, sensations. We stay curious about whatever shows up and we track it all the way. This is a little piece of what we do during sessions. We follow feelings and sensations to help discharge the nervous system.

I offer packages for those of you who want the same time every week and also save a little money.

If you have any queries or would like some more information please feel free to get in touch.

I have found the most beautiful little place to work called The Life Heal Journey just south of Edinburgh on the outskirts of Penicuik from Friday 2nd September every 2nd Friday. A gorgeous cottage tucked away from the town with an idyllic garden that will definitely get put to good use in the summer months. It's full of amazing vibes and a place I can really express the spiritual side of my work.

Check it out www.facebook.com/theLifeHealJourney

I'm going to be offering Somatic Experiencing, Craniosacral and Breathwork 1-2-1's and in the not to distant future Non-Linear Movement Method® classes.

If you live on the southside of Edinburgh it might be easier for you for you to travel there.

Can't wait to get started🌼

To experience a sensual pleasurable life we engage with the world and the people around us with all five senses.

See. Hear. Touch. Smell. Taste.

Daily modern life dulls these senses and we can often find ourselves feeling things like irritated, numb and overwhelmed with the many inputs our senses recieve everyday. The constant noise of traffic and building work affects our hearing. The numerous advertisments we see on vehicles, billboards, social media and the excessive screen time can be all too much for our vision. We are always smelling things like car fumes and perfumes. There is usually something around us that is affecting at least one of our senses.

When that stimulation is constantly too high our body tries to constrict the input our senses take in. It becomes too much for our nervous system and we begin to numb our awareness and in the end only the most prominent comes into our perception, we block out the rest.

We can try and limit the sensory overload but this can be difficult especially when we live in a city. So we need to find other ways to bring aliveness, well-being and pleasure back into our body.

When we work with Non-Linear Movement we begin to embody more feeling and sensation, awakening the senses. This gives us access to feel more pleasure and comfort in our physical, emotional and mental bodies. As there is no structure or programme anyway you move is the right way because it's right for you. By moving what you are feeling rather than moving how someone tells you it provides the right space for your body to do what it needs to do.

The next date for my Non-Linear Movement Method® class at Mulberry House is Friday 19th August at 6.30pm. Our attention will be with moving how you are feeling. Please see my page for more details on or message me directly.

Warmly,
Nicki 💖
