I've been going to the gym for 18 years and I still don't always feel comfortable when I'm there.

Most days I'm fine, but some days I absolutely hate it.

I hate the idea of people looking at me or being too close to me.

I don't feel confident when I'm walking around.

I don't like crowds.

And some days I just don't like being around other peopleπŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ.

I thought I'd share this in case you can relate.

And want you to know it's completely normal to feel a bit nervous and uncomfortable in the gym.

It does get better over time.

And you can usually overcome it through experience and by choosing the right gym environment for you.

❗ FFP Winter Challenge ❗.

Ladies, this time of year can be tough for both mood & motivation.

Which is why I created the 21 Day Winter Challenge.

To help you stay active during the darker months and focus on things that boost your mood πŸ’ͺ🏻.

During the 21 days you'll have access to either our Group PT sessions or Classes.

We’ll also focus on small daily habits that will have a massive impact on how you feel.

If that sounds like exactly what you need for this time of year.

Message me the word WINTER and I'll send more info over πŸ‘.

Why FFP is different from mainstream gyms:

- No mirrors.

- No crowds or queues.

- No worrying about being in the background of someone's workout video.

- A private space.

- Professional support without shouting or screaming at you.

- A community of other women who are friendly, encouraging and get how you're feeling.

Message me the word STRONG to learn more about our Group Personal Training sessions πŸ’ͺ.

Ladies, are you scared to use the weights area in the gym?

It's too busy/crowded.
You're worried about doing the wrong things.
You don't want to look silly or injure yourself.

I totally get it and most of my clients do too.

Like Natalie, who was scared to step foot in a gym but now attends FFP regularly and has lost 4 stone.

And Rhona, who struggled with consistency but has been attending for 3 years and is strong AF.

Or Lissa, who has been coming for over a year, lost over 1.5 stone and dealt with lower back issues.

At Fit for Purpose our 6 Week STRONG Plan will help you regain confidence & start doing things you never thought you could...

- Lifting weights.
- Pushing yourself.
- Actually going to the gym and enjoying it.

You'll do 2 Group PT sessions a week so you can learn to lift weights safely under my professional guidance.

No mirrors or crowded weight areas, just a private friendly environment with other women who get it.

I have space available over the next week or so.

If that sounds like what you’ve been looking for, message me the word STRONG and I'll be in touch πŸ’ͺ.

People are already confused when it comes to nutrition.

And it's because folk will argue about literally anything 🀣.

There's people that will genuinely tell you not to eat fruit.

Like aye mate, we've got an obesity epidemic because folk are binge eating apples.

I know it can be hard to know who to listen to when it comes to your diet.

But a decent starting point would be to avoid anyone who thinks eating some jaffa cakes is similar to a drug relapse.

I like to think I take a more common sense approach to nutrition:

- Don't view foods as good or bad.

- Don't feel guilty or beat yourself up for eating certain foods.

- Follow the 80/20 rule: 80% of your diet is minimally processed whole foods, the other 20% is saved for treats.

- Aim for consistency over perfection.

- Avoid extremes.

- Focus on balance and moderation.

Pretty much the opposite of most nutrition advice out there 🀣.

If you're feeling a bit confused about what to eat and unsure where to start, feel free to drop me a message and I'll give you a hand πŸ‘.

"The longest I've stuck to anything and it's given me the confidence to try other classes" πŸ‘.

From going to the gym on and off and being scared to use weights.

To sticking to it long term, enjoying it and feeling confident enough to try new things πŸ‘.

This is a very common journey for my FFP members.

3 things I'm proud of this year.

At the weekend asked us to write down 3 things we're most proud of this year, and it obviously took me nearly a week to come up with mine πŸ˜….

I could've rhymed off 3 things that haven't gone well no bother haha.

But I think it's good to reflect on stuff like this even if it's hard.

βœ… Asking for help running my business.

At the start of the year I was avoiding stuff I knew I should be doing but didn't want to. I also felt a bit lost, stuck and wasn't sure how to fix it which is when I reached out to Stu. I'm glad I wasn't too proud or silly to admit that I needed a hand.

βœ… Making lots of small changes to my service.

I've made lots of changes to my business this year, some of which have probably gone unnoticed but I reckon have made my service better. I've still got lots of things I want to improve and that's ok, there's nothing wrong with always trying to make things better if anything it shows that you care.

βœ… Making a lot more effort with my nutrition.

I've been the most consistent (not perfect) with my nutrition this year than ever before. This is something I decided I wanted to work on at the start of the year and I'm glad I did, I even worked with an online coach to help me out. I'll probably do a longer post explaining this as it might be helpful.

Cheers for getting this to do this Stu and for putting on a great day πŸ‘
