Whether anxiety levels are feeling low, normal for the situation or very high, concentrate to breathe at a normal. As anxiety levels increase, the breath gets faster and shallower. Reversing this will help self-soothe the discomfort.

Tip: Identifying triggers. Many triggers will be obvious but others less so. Keep a diary of what you are doing each day and measure your anxiety on a scale of 1-10 to establish themes. This can help you anticipate anxiety and do breathing and relaxation exercises beforehand.
