Overwhelmed, burnt out, running through to-do lists, constantly giving to others?

How often do you give yourself a true reset?
A moment to slow down, to ask your body what it really needs—and truly listen?

When we rest, we give from a full cup.
Your body feels nourished. Your mind feels clear. Your energy feels vibrant and connected again.

I had a lovely evening celebrating the autumn equinox yesterday evening with the beautiful ladies from The Moon Rooms. The themes that came out were grounding and gratitude.

We live in a world where there is so much focus on measuring- defining ourselves by age, scores on a test, figures on a scale, steps we have taken etc etc. We use these numbers to compare ourselves to others, at times feeling briefly superior, before finding someone with a better score and feeling ‘less than’ again.

When writing my gratitude list, I realised that most of the items were not things that can be readily measured, yet are so much more important:
fierce hugs, crisp blue autumn skies, the awe when taking in the view from the top of a mountain, the power of an infectious laugh, feelings of safety and connection.
I believe the word “glimmers” was coined by Deb Dana a psychotherapist specialising in trauma.
“Glimmers refer to small moments when our biology is in a place of connection or regulation, which cues our nervous system to feel safe or calm”
These will be the things I’m counting this autumn 😊 🍁

Progressing in therapy isn’t just a matter of sitting down in an office and declaring “Fix me.” Success requires some give and take with your therapist, and effort on your part to make every appointment count. Make the most of your sessions with these tips.
