Here’s the problem.

Most IBS advice was built around male research.

So women are handed food lists, told to remove half their diet…

and still end up bloated, constipated, or running to the toilet before their period.

Because no one is explaining how hormones affect the gut.

Once women understand this, IBS suddenly stops feeling so random.

Follow along if you want to learn more…

What’s the worst thing you were told at your IBS diagnosis?!

08/03/2026

You weren’t supposed to spend your life planning toilet stops before a night out.

But that’s what happens when women with IBS are given food lists instead of real explanations.

Cut this.
Avoid that.
Try this supplement.

And somehow you’re still left guessing.

Most women are never told that IBS symptoms are heavily influenced by your nervous system and hormones, not just the last thing you ate.

Which means when you’re going out, the most helpful thing isn’t usually restricting more food.

TRY THIS:

Eat something simple and familiar 2–3 hours before you leave, so your gut isn’t dealing with a large meal right when you’re trying to relax and enjoy yourself.

Small changes like that can make a huge difference.

I’ve spent the last 20 years studying nutrition and psychology, and my goal here is simple:

To help women understand their gut properly so they can actually enjoy their life again.

Follow me if you’re ready for clear explanations instead of more restrictions.

Low FODMAP was never designed to be a forever diet.

It was created as a short-term tool to help identify triggers not a lifelong list of foods to fear.

But many women are given the diet without proper guidance on how to reintroduce foods again.

So they stay stuck in restriction.

Not because it’s the best solution but because it’s the only one they were shown.

I’ve spent the last 20 years studying nutrition and psychology, and one thing is very clear:

IBS management isn’t about cutting more and more foods. It’s about understanding how your gut actually works.

Follow me. I explain IBS clearly in 30 seconds or less.

Everyone on the internet, including me sometimes, will tell you to:

• eat kiwi with the skin on

• take magnesium

• add flax

• drink more water

And those things can help.

But the biggest shift for my constant IBS constipation?

It wasn’t a magic food.

Can we all agree to stop searching for a magic bullet!?!

It was regulating my gut–brain loop.

When your nervous system is constantly in fight-or-flight, your digestion slows down.

When you’re anxious about food, your body braces.

When you restrict and re-restrict, your gut becomes even more reactive.

Constipation in IBS isn’t just a fibre issue.
It’s often a safety issue.

Once I focused on:

• consistent meals

• gradual fibre increases

• proper reintroduction

• calming my nervous system

…things started moving. Literally.

That’s why I combine psychology + nutrition.

Because you can’t out-supplement a stressed gut.

Just because you have IBS does not mean you need to restrict your diet forever.

But the current system makes it feel like you do.

Women are handed food lists instead of explanations.

Low FODMAP leaflet.

Try cutting gluten.

Maybe avoid dairy.

Reduce stress.

And then… off you go.

No one explains how your hormones affect gut movement.
No one explains how your nervous system controls digestion.
No one explains why symptoms change week to week.

So women keep removing foods.

Not because it’s the right long-term solution.
But because it’s the only tool they were given.

Try this:

If you’ve been restricting for a long time, reintroduce one food in a calm, controlled way this week instead of avoiding everything automatically. Your gut needs gradual exposure, not lifelong fear.

I’ve spent 20 years studying nutrition and psychology, including two psychology degrees, and what became clear to me is this:

IBS was oversimplified.

And women deserve better than oversimplified.

Follow me if you want proper explanations not another list of foods to cut.
