As the doors close on Move as we once knew it and it adapts to become something different, a good friend of mine sent me some very kind words that really helped me reflect on the impact myself and Move have had on some people.
I've been told a lot in my life through school, jobs, friends and family that I'm a bit of a 'joker' . I've always found life to be easier when you're having fun. Sure, life isn't always sunshine and rainbows and I've been through my fair share of s**t, haven't we all, but if you're smiling and laughing at yourself then that tends to become infectious. It makes people feel at ease and it seems that by behaving this way I've allowed a few people to realise that they can be their true authentic, weird and wonderful self.
That was my goal. I wanted people to come to Move not to lose weight and focus on exercise but to become completely confident and comfortable in themselves and when I first opened I wasn't entirely sure how I would actually do that but it turns out that by just being myself I managed to make an impact on some very special people who walked through Moves doors.
So here's something really positive I'll be taking away from being :
Don't take life too seriously, make jokes, be silly, don't worry about everyone liking you, you simply aren't going to be everyone's cup of tea and that's ok. Find the parts of you that you love and own up to the other parts you could work on. Be you, completely and utterly yourself.
Once you do that friends, life starts to feel pretty damn great 👌🏼🤗
Yours truly,
Mama Move x
