Tell me about your Business!!
ADHD + business can be a powerful mix: big ideas, creativity, energy, and hyperfocus when it matters.

But let’s be honest—the admin can be the stumbling block. Planning, organisation, emails, invoices, and procrastination (often overwhelm) can hold even the most talented people back.

As a service, we believe it’s vital that people with ADHD can connect, share real experiences, and swap practical tips with others who genuinely “get it.”

So we’d love to hear from you:
Do you run a business or side hustle—creative, fashion, food, trades, digital, anything? Drop it in the comments with a Link to your website and tag us in your posts. We’re happy to share and tag you on our page too.

And if you’re willing to go one step further: would you write a short post or blog about your journey—what ADHD has been like for you, and how you found your path into business? Real stories help others stay motivated and believe their goals are achievable.
If you’d like to contribute, message us directly on Messenger.

We continue to believe that, as a community, sharing authentic lived experience empowers not only patients and families, but services too. It is time to speak openly about how neurodivergence can move you forward, not hold you back—and for ALL services to understand ADHD through real life, not only through a clinical lens. As a diagnostic classification system dosn't always reflect how ADHD truly presents day to day.
so tell us... we're all 👂

Merry Christmas everyone!

Today is all about joy, connection and embracing the little quirks that make us who we are. ADHD can make the festive season… interesting, timers forgotten, turkey overcooked, tasks half-done. But it also brings humour, creativity, and heart.

Most importantly, it reminds us that while we might forget a few things, we never forget the people who make us feel grounded, supported and loved.

Wishing you warmth, laughter and connection today — however your ADHD shows up...from all of us at ADHD Direct.🎄✨

Lived Experience: Christmas Eve is often a quiet pause.
A moment to look back, to notice how far we’ve come, and to imagine how things could be different.

Today, as part of our Lived Experience feature, we’re sharing a story about growing up without answers and the hope that comes when understanding finally arrives. It’s about what it means to put a name to lifelong struggles, to realise you were never broken, just unsupported.

This is a story about change. About how insight can reshape the past, steady the present, and open the door to a kinder future...at any age!

If you’re one of our patients and feel ready to share your own lived experience, we would love to hear from you. Your story may offer reassurance, recognition, or hope to someone who needs it this Christmas and beyond.

Get in touch with us directly if you’d like to be featured. Read the full article: https://adhddirect.co.uk/blog/it-was-never-a-lack-of-ability/

Wishing you a peaceful Christmas Eve, and hope for what comes next.

Our Practice: Why We Support Legal Action to Protect Adult ADHD Patients

Too many adults across Scotland are waiting years for ADHD assessment, or being told the service simply doesn’t exist where they live. This is not a personal failure. It’s a system failure.

At ADHD Direct, we support the legal action challenging NHS Tayside’s lack of adult ADHD assessments. Patients deserve timely, fair access to diagnosis and care, not a postcode lottery or indefinite waiting lists.

ADHD is a recognised neurodevelopmental condition. Delayed assessment has real consequences for mental health, employment, relationships, and quality of life.

We stand with patients, advocates, and legal professionals calling for accountability and meaningful change.

Further Support: When the holidays turn your house into a theme park you didn’t sign up for…Parents Inc is here to help.

School’s out, routines wobble, and suddenly your living room has the energy of a small festival. Many parents tell us this time of year brings joy mixed with a quiet ache for structure, space, and a moment to breathe.

If your home currently feels less like your home and more like a 24-hour sensory parade, please know you’re not navigating this season alone.

Parents Inc, led by the brilliant Gordon Brown, offers practical, compassionate support for caregivers raising children with ADHD. It’s a space designed to turn overwhelm into understanding, and daily friction into workable rhythms.

The programme brings you:

✨ Tools to help you respond to big emotions
✨ Strategies for communication that doesn’t collapse under stress
✨ Ways to create calm pockets in chaotic days
✨ Guidance that feels human, not clinical
✨ A community of other parents who get it

Whether this holiday has been loud, lovely, or a bit of both, you deserve support that strengthens you rather than stretches you thin.

If you feel your family could use something steadier to hold onto right now, Parents Inc is ready when you are.

Sunday Read: When we talk about ADHD, we often focus on attention, behaviour, and learning. But there’s another side of the story that’s discussed far less.

In her latest article, Dr Georgina Brown examines the link between ADHD and cardiovascular health, highlighting why these risks exist regardless of medication and why understanding them is essential for holistic care.

Podcast: In the latest episode of the Gordon Brown Podcast, Gordon speaks with photographer and YouTuber Rick Bebbington about the intersection of creativity, ADHD, and mental health.
