Understanding these patterns can help you make sense of symptom changes, reduce self-blame, and plan support that actually fits your body.

January 21 | National Hugging Day

We’re not joking. Today really is the day!

For so many of our patients, the hope behind an assessment isn’t labels or paperwork. It’s relationships.

It’s wanting to be more present.
To stay in the moment.
To be someone others can rely on, and feel close to.

So today, we invite you to pause and remember the people who hug you (virtually or in person), the ones who stayed.

And if you’d like to start a journey toward understanding yourself or your loved ones better, we’d love to hear from you.

💬 Share a hug emoji below to celebrate the people who matter, or DM us to chat about ADHD or autism assessments. Let’s start building more connected, supported relationships...together.

January 17 | Ditch Your Resolution Day:
Sometimes, wrapped in the sparkle and brightness of the Christmas season, we over-promise. We over-resolve. We imagine ourselves becoming completely different people just because the calendar turns.

And by mid-January, that version of us feels heavy, distant, or quietly impossible.

Maybe there’s a better way.
Maybe there’s a better kind of resolution.

Instead of losing weight, perhaps you start eating a little better.
Instead of going to the gym five times a week, maybe you go for an evening walk.
Instead of changing everything, you choose something kinder, smaller, and sustainable.

Make this the year of better resolutions.
The kind that fit into real lives, real brains, real energy levels.

And if one of the things you’ve been putting off is an autism or ADHD assessment…
you already know where to find us.

A warm welcome to Kirsty Templeton, ADHD Nurse Practitioner

Kirsty joined ADHD Direct at the end of last year, and we’re delighted to officially welcome her to the team.

Her motivation for working in neurodiversity is deeply personal. As a parent to a five-year-old currently awaiting assessment for ASD and possible ADHD, Kirsty knows first-hand what it means to navigate long waiting lists, uncertainty, and the emotional weight that comes with seeking support.

After two years engaging with NHS services, this lived experience has shaped a strong sense of empathy and a genuine connection with families and individuals going through the assessment process.

It’s this understanding, alongside her clinical expertise, that led Kirsty to join ADHD Direct in 2025. Her passion for supporting the neurodiverse community is rooted not just in knowledge, but in real life.

We’re very glad to have her as part of our team. 💛

Another piece of feedback we’re grateful to share.

So often, families tell us they’re not just looking for answers.
They’re looking to be treated with respect, clarity, and care.

Here’s what one family shared with us:

“The ADHD assessment was respectful, validating, and not rushed. Everything was clearly explained, and the pricing felt fair and transparent. I’m very grateful for the care our family received.”

This kind of feedback matters deeply to us.
Because assessments shouldn’t feel hurried, confusing, or transactional.
They should feel human.

Thank you to the families who trust us with something so important. And if you are looking for support for yours, you know where we are.

For children with ADHD, structure isn’t about strict discipline or rigid rules.
It’s about connection, predictability, and being part of everyday life.

Simple household tasks like:
• feeding a pet
• hanging clothes
• changing bedding
• wiping surfaces or mopping
• tidying one small area

can help children:
• practise sequencing and follow-through
• build confidence through contribution
• understand routines in a concrete way
• feel included, not managed

When chores are shared, age-appropriate, and clearly defined, they become less about “behaviour” and more about belonging.

ADHD children don’t need perfection. They need structure that makes sense to their brain, and support that grows with them.

Phone on 2%
Empty wallet because the cards vanished
Your partner’s keys because yours are… somewhere
Glasses you can never find until you don’t need them
Headphones on 1% (but emotionally essential)...

Could this be your bag?

We shared a version of this with a young child’s school bag before.
But ADHD doesn’t disappear when you grow up.
Adult lives can be just as chaotic, just with higher stakes and fewer spare pens.

Messy doesn’t mean careless.
It often means your brain is juggling a lot.

And if this feels a little too familiar and you’re wondering whether you need further support, we’re here.

You don’t have to keep carrying it all alone. 💛
