Workshop for those who have worked with ROPES are experienced in inverting and want to strengthen their practice.

This is taking our general ROPES & chair workshop to a much DEEPER level.

Using 2 Key Yoga Props - The Rope Wall & The Yoga Chair to intensify and awaken our awareness of traditional yoga postures.

We will work on STANDINGS, TWISTS, BACKBENDS, INVERSIONS and FORWARD BENDS with a nice RELAXATION segment at the end...........the plan is to build up to 'drop backs' in backbends, though we will have alternates. Once your body has opened up, you will be surprised what it can do!

You will leave feeling taller, more open, be able to breathe better and have an incredible sense of calm from releasing tension from 'every' part of your body.

The class will finish with a CLASSICAL RESTORATIVE section lasting 10/15 mins

This is what children’s yoga is all about - connection, confidence & community.

Here is one of my recent graduates teaching from the heart, surrounded by children hanging on to every word.

Moments like this remind me why we do what we do. ✨

At Little Greene Yoga, our instructors are trained to the highest standards.

They earn their qualification only after successfully passing both a practical and a written exam - because supporting children’s physical, emotional & mental development is one of the most important responsibilities anyone can take on.

Our courses are intentionally different.

For too long, many trainings taught children the way they teach adults -using postures that are unsafe for growing bodies, or packing 50 trainees into a room where no one ever actually gets to teach, let alone work with children.

At LGY, we keep our numbers small.
You learn the postures first, then join us LIVE to learn how to teach - lesson planning, class control, safe sequencing, child development & of course, guided practice teaching.

We build your confidence step by step, preparing you to deliver a full children’s class for your final exam.

Because when teachers feel confident, supported, and inspired… they pass that forward.......And the children flourish. 💛

The only thing that’s stiff is society’s expectations.

Age isn’t the limit.......Not moving is!

Friday in our ALIGN class, this incredible woman moved into Urdhva Dhanurasana (full wheel) with support from me and another student. Actually the whole class did but this was the only photo we took!

She was elated, surprised and invigorated.

I wasn’t. This class has been redeveloping movement in their spine, safely over the past year.

We use props to develop neural pathways in the brain that show the mind & body how it can and should function.

Movement isn’t just for the young.....

We don’t stop developing the brain at 25 and then sit still for the next 50 years. (longer when we all get on board a longevity plan - of Longevity). The body keeps talking to the brain through movement and the spine is the main messenger.

A healthy spine doesn’t just hold us upright (remember: the skull is the heaviest part of the body), it transfers information through the spinal cord and influences how we breathe, how we feel, and how our nervous system responds to stress.

Here’s something most people never think about......

The upper thoracic spine, even though it’s normally rounded (kyphotic), should subtly move inward on each inhalation. You can see it happening in her upper back in the photo.
But if the upper spine becomes stiff and immovable?

❌ Breathing becomes restricted.
❌ Restricted breath affects Heart Rate Variability.
❌ Lower HRV affects the nervous system.

And suddenly it’s a catch-22:
We get stuck in our body → which makes us stuck in our mind → which feeds
feelings of being trapped or low.

Movement breaks that cycle.
At any age.
At every age.

🌟 Keep moving to keep the spine healthy.
🌟 Keep moving to keep the brain developing.
🌟 Keep moving to keep you alive in every sense of the word.

🌿 Next 8-Week Block of Kids Classes – Now Open for Enrolment! 🌿
Block starts Wednesday 22nd October.

Using the Little Greene Yoga method, our classes go far beyond movement - we help children understand how their bodies and minds work together.

✨ In this 8-week block, children will learn:

🧠 How physical movement and posture affect how we feel — from calm to confident!

⚡ How to self-regulate: energising when they feel tired, and calming when they feel overstimulated.

💪 Fun physical movements that support:
• Healthy energy balance
• Nervous system regulation
• Better digestion
• Stronger brain-body connection
• Focus, confidence, and emotional resilience

💚 These classes give children tools for life - helping them tune in, feel grounded, and build a foundation for lifelong wellbeing.

Classes are run by the founder of Little Greene Yoga, established in 2002, who also creates workshops and resources for schools and teachers to bring these powerful techniques into classrooms.

📅 8-week block starting soon – spaces are limited!

Tristan Boyer Binns is an Iyengar certified yoga teacher with 20 years of experience teaching on ropes.

Tristan loves yoga, and yoga on the wall ropes in particular, because there is no other way to feel the traction, balance, and depth of experience in asana quite like it.

Tristan teaches with humor and kindness, usually focusing on an action to follow through a series of poses. Tuning into small actions and details is a great way to bring the lens of mindfulness and awareness into focus, and to quiet the ever-present inner voice. After a practice, she wants you to feel like the renovated version of yourself - longer, lighter, easier, and calmer.

Why use ropes?

Sometimes to reach past areas that hold us up, such as stiffness or injury. Sometimes to overcome fear, such as with inversions. Sometimes to revitalize a practice that feels stale, to inject fun and liveliness.

In this workshop, we will use the wall ropes in a simple sequence to create space and freedom, and gain confidence moving ropes around and creating different set ups. We will explore how familiar asanas can be altered and deepened using the wall ropes. We will look at different families of poses, taking representative poses from each family. You can extrapolate from our starting poses into other poses that feature the same kind of alignment.

We will also have fun with some of the joyful and quietening ropes sequences.

Bring your questions and challenges and we will try to address them!

Workshop 20th October 2025 6.30pm - 8.30pm
