I run monthly OCD support groups – one in-person here in Glasgow and one online – for anyone affected by OCD, whether you’re in recovery, navigating the ups and downs, or just wanting to connect with others who truly get it.
They’re really informal, supportive spaces where we chat, share experiences, and explore practical ways to manage OCD together 💭💛
🗓️ In-person (Glasgow): 1st Saturday of each month
💻 Online: 3rd Saturday of each month
If you’d like to join us or just find out a bit more, drop me a message or check out 💛

Open to all adults living in the UK 🥰

Reassurance Seeking in OCD is one of the most common symptoms across all themes. It can be incredibly sneaky and show up in many ways. Sufferers can seek reassurance both explicitly and implicitly.

It’s human nature to seek answers and support but unfortunately in OCD reassurance strengthens the OCD cycle and perpetuates doubt. The relief gained is often short lived or not enough leading to further spikes down the line.

Information seeking is asking a question that has a specific answer often once from a reputable source. Reassurance seeking is when we seek certainty repetitively, asking multiple times from multiple sources (often ones that are not helpful).

AI is fast becoming one of the most frequently sought forms of reassurance, this is likely because it never gets frustrated or stops providing information. While I believe we can utilise parts of AI to support with treatment I encourage caution as this can lead to hours going down a rabbit hole, asking the same questions in many ways to much it into giving you relief. The hard truth is the answer you’re seeking often doesn’t exist on the internet.
