Sports, Life, Work has grown from a portable sports therapy business into a center for Sports and Performance. We moved from our small injury clinic once we needed to find a new location to home all our kit from taking over a gym. We have 2 treatment rooms for Sports Therapy work, (assessing, treating and rehabilitating injuries, Doesn't have to be sports injury.) We have a private multi use gym and have 1 in-house personal as well as elrenting the space to other coaches.

We're saying it a lot this month, but exercise is PROVEN to be a huge benefit to people's mental health

It doesnt matter if its weights, cardio, yoga...Just getting your body moving and using your energy to release some endorphins and shifting your mental focus for a while does wonders for your body

Mental Health Month Event Calendar!

We have a few events running at SLW through February for Mental Health Month!

We are promoting Mens Mental Health Walks in Cambuslang with Adam Clarke. Running every Monday from the Bridge Street Car Park next to Morrissons

We have Free Open Gym use with our coach Kris. A time for all members and non-members who are maybe looking to just find a way to blow off steam and relax a little, to come down and use our facility for free with Kris on hand to provide help and support if the gym is new to you

Breathing and De-stress Workshop to take some time to relax a little and slow things down

Then rounding off with a Mens Mental Health talk in the club, breaking the stigma about talking and learning what options are available for support

The power that exercise has on mental health is incredible and still an underutilized treatment method for many.

Countless studies show that those in a regular exercise rhythm report lower levels of stress, anxiety and depression while increasing their quality of life and sleep (which also correlates to better mental wellbeing)

Some studies even found it to be as much as 1.5x more effective than some medication and therapy services for certain conditions. As much as we fully support and believe that talking to an expert is the best form of therapy, adopting a more active lifestyle can still help many people improve their wellbeing.

This can be the gym, walking, cycling, yoga, swimming, team sports...whatever suits you best is where to start and if you need support from a welcoming, supportive community then the SLW team are always there for you.
