PAR Physiotherapy continues to act as a drop off point for unwanted running clothing in support of the charity ReRun.

The idea of ReRun was born to try and prolong the life of running clothes and equipment and save them from landfill. Extending the life of clothes by just nine months of active use would reduce carbon, water and waste footprints by around 20-30% each.

The charity is run by GB ultra runner Dan Lawson who in 2020 broke the Lands End - John O’Groats running record.

Here is another box of running clothes about to be sent to ReRun today. 👍

We would like to thank those who drop the running kit into the Kirkintilloch clinic and would be happy for this to continue.

Thanks again.

Physiotherapy services are able to continue within the new restrictions announced in Scotland.

On that basis, we are still seeing patients on a face- face basis and will continue to do so in the future. Appropriate PPE will continue to be worn.

We do ask for all patients to continue to wear a face covering within the clinic and observe our guidelines- you have been great so far with this.

Many thanks,

We hope you are all keeping well..........

PAR Physiotherapy are pleased to announce we are now open for face to face sessions.

You will notice some changes in the clinic such as PPE, hand sanitizing stations and reduced seats in our waiting room.

We are also allowing increased time between appointments to minimize contact between patients in the clinic.

Should you not wish to attend for face to face, we still have the remote service available.

If you are showing any symptoms of fever, new persistent cough or loss of taste or smell in the last 14 days (or been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for Covid19) please do not attend.

Please call on 0141 776 8315 / 07597 567315 or email parphysio@hotmail.co.uk

Some worrying results from a recent COVID-19 homeworker well-being study produced by the Institute for Employment Studies. Their findings showed that office staff, now home working, have a significant increase in musculoskeletal complaints.

On the rise are-
Neck pain (58 per cent)
Shoulder pain (56 per cent)
Lower back pain (55 per cent)

Also on the rise are-
Loss of sleep due to worry (64 per cent)
Increased fatigue (60 per cent)
Longer and irregular working hours (48 per cent)

PAR Physiotherapy have a long experience of dealing with such problems-

1) Prevention- We are fully trained to carry out remote work place desk assessments.
2) Treatment- We can advise on self help and exercises to reduce pain and improve function.

Our phone lines and email are still open for video assessments and advice. These are proving to be really popular and at a discounted rate than a normal face- face session.
