I have a fascination with anatomy and the things we cannot touch, a fascination with the feeling of life underneath each bit of surface that makes us, us. Each individual’s body is unique, in the literal sense that whatever you have gone through to get you this far in life, each step, each leap, each boundary needing faced, has been yours and only yours. Even then, no two sides of one body is ever completely symmetrical. We as humans are habitual creatures, creating repetitive behavioural and structural tendencies that our bodies have to take onboard. To say the body has “muscle memory” would be anatomically incorrect, however like learning to play an instrument the body with repetition (or “practice”) will eventually define these movements as natural. What is “Body Talk”? Each body has its own methods of reaching out to ask for help. Too much habitualness on specific parts of our anatomy can lead to numbness or even repetitive strain/ chronic injuries. We often lack an inward focus or awareness to our physical selves, so much so our bodies has to do the talking for us by drawing attention to the neglected or over-worked areas.
“The body remembers. Stuffed until an event, a sound, a sight, a touch, a word, or a person awakens them”
The body is like a book. It is readable. It carries your entire story, all the good and bad bits. Using techniques such as myofascial release and deep tissue therapy, we can start to accept - acknowledge - and release - the traumas, tensions and tires of the physical self - and perhaps with further investigating - those of the mind too, as one cannot function without the other. I offer every person who comes to see me a personal 30 minute FREE extensive musculoskeletal and structural alignment assessment. This allows for a deeper understanding of what was, what is and knowledge for future progress. Please note that if further treatment is agreed upon, a non-refundable deposit of £10 is required to secure your booking. This will be deducted from the cost of treatment on the scheduled day.
As well as the numerous treatments (which can be found within the services tab on this page) I offer a fun, dynamic, comprehensive yoga practice that will leave you feeling rooted and stronger. I qualified as a Certified Forrest Yoga Instructor after taking 28 days training with Ana Forrest and her team in August 2014 (RYT-200). Being a former ballet and contemporary dancer (BA Hons SSCD 2012) and having gone through several serious dance-related injuries, I wanted to give to the world the same healing and nourishing practice that has strengthened and helped my body and mind. With a lot of extensive studying I’ve devoted my focus predominately on the prevention, rehabilitation and understanding of hyper-mobility within movement. Being introduced at several establishments throughout Scotland, and opening a loving studio located in Limassol, Cyprus has allowed me to gain over 500 hours of work experience in both teaching and bodywork. I am now available for free consultations & yoga sessions worldwide both virtually and offline for private and corporate clientele. Please keep checking the page for updates with regards to class schedules. (Pregnant mamas are welcome to participate in any class and will be adjusted for each pose ONLY if 1. You have previously done yoga. 2. You have spoken to your GP about continuing yoga during pregnancy. 3. You have past your first trimester of your pregnancy.)
