Our pharmacist Rory is taking part in Tough Mudder this weekend to raise money for SAMH, the Scottish Association for Mental Health.

This will be the 7th time Rory has taken on this challenge. This year he has manage to rope his sister in so he has a teammate for the first time!

Here is the tough mudder obstacle map, a 15km assault course of mud, water, obstacles and electric shocks!

At the bottom of this post is a link to their just giving page should anyone like to sponsor them. If you would like to find out more about SAMH and the work they do you can visit their website here https://www.samh.org.uk/

Thank you

This photo shows the amount of uncollected prescriptions that have been in the pharmacy drawers over the last 3-4 months. A huge waste of NHS time, money and staff resources involved in labelling, dispensing and checking these prescriptions.

Even more time will now be spent putting all the items back into stock. Please do not take the NHS for granted. We are extremely busy as it is without making up prescriptions only to have to take them all apart further down the line. Thank you

Our phone lines are currently down at the moment. If you have a prescription request you can email us at info@stjamespharmacy.co.uk and we will pick them up from there

Thank you

Flu vaccine update

We have been inundated with requests regarding flu vaccinations this year. Unfortunately we can’t get any in at the moment. We received a very small supply about a month ago and they went out very quickly. We have tried every day for the last three weeks to get more in but it’s looking increasingly unlikely that we will get any more in.

For people who usually receive a NHS flu jab, this year they are being done centrally through NHS Lanarkshire and not via the GP surgeries as usual. You will receive a letter to attend for a jab, do not panic if you have not received one as yet!

Due to the unprecedented demand on pharmaceutical services we are temporarily closing the phamacy between 12 and 2 each day in order for staff to get lunches and to try and catch up with the vast amount of prescriptions that are flooding in to the pharmacy.

Please allow 5-6 days between ordering and picking up.

Thank you for your patience at this time
