Tonight’s Safe Space meeting is at 7pm for Retailers to join and speak safely about their week.

Reach out if you are unsure if it’s for you or unsure of the format.

We go over rules at the beginning of each meeting and everyone has space to speak. If you don’t feel ready to speak; a lot of people find it cathartic to just listen and sharing can come later.

RATE•MY•PLATE

Not literally but let’s look at what we have on our plate.

We have:

⭕️ Really long hours:- we service the public 16-24 hours a day. Our business never sleeps. Do we?

⭕️ Staffing issues:- no matter how wonderful our team is we often experience staff absence, holiday cover and the unexpected.

⭕️ Increasing costs:- We face the cost of living the same as a consumer and often weigh up absorbing some of the cost to keep footfall and custom coming.

⭕️Tax:- the never spoken about subject. We face it at every angle

⭕️Family:- whether it’s balancing our intertwined home life or navigating family working together in business

⭕️Competition:- we are constantly styling new competition. Battle of who is the strongest

⭕️ Our own selves:- we really do put ourselves last. It’s not being heroic or selfless but the sheer extent of sometimes not alway business feeling like survival.

Tonight we will be discussing exactly what’s on our plates. How we manage or maybe how we aren’t just now. Both are fine. Let’s normalise talking it out.

Weather has been up down and all over the place. Challenges continue with Shoplifting abuse and forever proposed changes in legislation.
