If youโre working in a calorie deficit, unless you have really miscalculated your calorie consumption, or have an underlying health issue then you canโt gain body fat in a calorie deficit. โฃ

There can be many reasons why your weight on the scales will fluctuate dailyโฆโฃ
โฃ
๐ฆ Water Rentention - a recent increase in resistance training (sore muscles retain water) and soreness, bruising or injury causes inflammation (retains water) and a recent increase in cardio increases blood volume from plasma and new blood cells. โฃโฃ
โฃโฃ
Menstrual Cycle ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ - About 1/3 of women have noticeable swings in weight during the week before menstruation/during menstruation of upto 5lbs.โฃโฃ

Constipation ๐ฉ- Less visits to the toilet will generally mean carrying more weight.

Weighing Time โฐ - Weighing yourself first thing in the morning will give a better reading as your weight will fluctuate during the day as your body needs time to digest and process the food you eat. โฃโฃ

Digestion๐ด- โฃThe bodyโs digestion process can cause weight fluctuations due to certain foods taking longer to fully digest, such as foods high in fibre. โฃ

Lack of Sleep ๐ด - Sleep deprivation causes changes to hormones that regulate hunger and appetite, meaning you are more likely to eat more due to a lack of sleep. โฃโฃ

Stress ๐คฏ - Stress causes the body to produce more of the hormone Cortisol. Cortisol is a hormone that promotes body fat and makes it harder to lose weight. โฃ

Exercise ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ - Muscle growth and fat loss will cause changes to your weight as will inflammation after a tough session. โฃ

So in future, donโt panic and think about these factors and do they any of them apply to you on the day or days leading up to you being on the scales.โฃ

Weighing yourself everyday is going to play with your head. If the scales are pi***ng you off, then why not focus on how you look and feel ๐ช๐ผ โฃ
