I couldn't agree more with this.

If you are feeling a bit off and you can only give 60% of your usual....but its the your best effort on that day....then you have still given it your all.

We are not robots. Sometimes we are full of energy and sometimes not.

Stop being so hard on yourself. Consistency is key.

Just keep showing up 💪

First super cold run of the season 🥶
1 degree at just before 8am this morning.

I actually love a crisp chilly morning run, it feels amazing! There are some pretty important things to keep in mind though:

1. Dress warm (but not too warm) think layers. I like a base layer and then my running jacket.
You tend to heat up very quickly and there's nothing worse than feeling too warm.

2. Make sure ears and/or head are covered by a headband or hat as we lose the most heat from here. I much prefer a headband. Gloves too! I sometimes end up taking them off but its good to have them if you need them.

3. Warm up before you leave the house. This is a must. Cold muscles are high risk for injury. 5 minutes of squats, lunges, light jogging, elbow to knee raises should do the trick.

4. Don't try to run at your warm weather pace. The freezing air is a shock to the system and your body is working hard to regulate your temperature. Accept that the pace might be a bit slower!

5. When you are finished make sure you get out of your sweaty running clothes quickly or you will end up chilled through. Take on plenty of hot fluids and cosy up in warm clothes.

Never let a cold morning put you off going out. Just make sure you are prepared and dont forget to stop and enjoy the views ☀️

The strength of this girl 💪

At her comp on Saturday FIRST time competing this new beam mount and she smashed it.

This skill is hard enough to do on the floor, never mind on a beam the width of an i-phone.

Forever in awe of my little athlete putting her heart and soul into this sport ❤️

Battle ropes big slams to finish my session yesterday.

These are exhausting 🥵🥵

I use various battle ropes exercises with a lof of my clients, depending on their goals.

The benefits of battle ropes are extensive and can be modified to suit any fitness level.
(My little athletes use one rope instead of 2)

Why I love the ropes:

⭐️ boost cardio fitness and muscular endurance
⭐️ works arms, legs, back and core all at once
⭐️ puts zero stress on joints so provide a great way to work at high intensity without risk
⭐️ amazing core workout
⭐️ builds mental toughness as the fatigue sets in this gets so hard
⭐️ improves explosive power which can be used across a wide range of sports
⭐️ can be used as interval training during a weights workout to burn serious fat 🔥

I set a goal at the start of the year to build a stronger core than ive ever had.
Feels like im getting there!

Busy wee day today for me.

5 clients before the 3pm school run means no lunchtime run. So i went at 6am - im a far nicer person when I've had my run.

Feeling fresh and ready for a day of great sessions!

Happy Friday 🤩

A very different Monday for me yesterday.

2 hours of sauna, steamrooms, hot tubs and the coldest of cold plunges I've ever experienced!

Didn't stop me doing the slide another twice though. Great fun and great way to reset!

Would highly recommend Taymouth Marina ❤️

Benefits of strength training in kids:

✔️ improves posture and motor skills

✔️improves speed, agility, balance and co-ordination

✔️ builds muscle and bone density which is so important during years of rapid growth

✔️ boosts self esteem and mental health. Reduces anxiety and stress, improves emotional well-being

✔️ teaches discipline and focus - setting goals and progressing over time improves persistence and patience

✔️ develops confidence in using gym equipment safely and sets strong and healthy habits

Blocks of sessions available from age 8.
Sports specific if required!

People often think that weights put too much pressure on joints. This is completely untrue.

Running at full speed and stopping very suddenly or changing direction (as kids do all day long) will put more pressure on knees and ankles than a light weight squat will ever do.

In fact, doing conditioning exercises makes it the joints LESS susceptible to injury.

I am absolutely loving these slow cooker recipes.

I like the fact that there are only 6 ingredients per recipe so no crazy additives or junk.

They are all calorie counted and most of them have a decent amount of protein.

I especially like the fact that there is no faffing about.

Just whack in the ingredients and go.
My kind of cooking.

Would 100% recommend for busy people 👍
