On a recent trip, I awoke to find this little fellow on the steps of the camper van. It immediately made me smile and so I named him Dopamine.

For those who aren't familiar, dopamine is a chemical released in the brain that makes you feel good. Having the right amount of dopamine is important both for your body and your brain.

It is also what makes some people feel empty, tired or depressed after a big event - vacation, party, wedding, etc. We come down off the high levels of dopamine and sometimes miss it.

Dopamine withdrawal is a real thing and many people experience this as the summer winds down without even knowing it.

Understanding how this affects you and how you can prepare for the downs after the ups in life can change a life.

If you know anyone who could use some help with post-vacation, post-summer or just regular old blues, let's talk about it. I'd love to help.

Have you ever experienced the "after-vacation slump"?

It is very common when you leave beautiful sights like the mountains, the beach, the lakes, to miss them.

As you settle back into your regular routine here are a few tips to overcome the post-vacation blues:

Give Yourself Transition Time:
Recognize that it's natural to feel a bit off after returning from vacation. Give yourself a day or two to ease back into your routine. Avoid scheduling intense activities immediately upon your return to allow for a smoother transition.

Reflect on Positive Memories:
Rather than focusing solely on the fact that your vacation has ended, take time to reflect on the positive memories and experiences you had during your time away. This can help extend the positive feelings and appreciation for the vacation.

Plan Mini Breaks:
Even though you're back from a longer vacation, consider scheduling smaller breaks or outings to look forward to. It could be a weekend getaway, a day trip, or even a special activity in your local area. These mini breaks can help break up the routine and provide something to anticipate.

Practice Self-Care:
Engage in activities that help you relax and recharge. This could be reading a book, taking a bubble bath, practicing mindfulness, or enjoying a hobby. Prioritize your well-being as you ease back into your regular schedule.

If you still struggle with transitioning or finding focus, let's talk. A few sessions will get you back to where you want to be.

Have you ever used melatonin?

Many of my clients have used melatonin or valerian but didn't have the need for it after the root cause of insomnia was addressed. I'm a huge advocate for education and thought these descriptions may help you understand how melatonin works and how hypnotherapy can help with sleep deprivation too.

Melatonin is a hormone produced naturally by the pineal gland, a small gland located in the brain. It plays a crucial role in regulating the sleep-wake cycle (circadian rhythm) and is often referred to as the "sleep hormone."

Melatonin levels increase in the evening as darkness sets in, signaling to the body that it's time to wind down and prepare for sleep. Conversely, melatonin levels decrease during daylight hours, promoting wakefulness.

Melatonin supplements are commonly used to help manage sleep disorders such as insomnia or jet lag. They can help reset disrupted sleep-wake cycles and improve sleep quality for individuals who have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep.

Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic approach that uses guided relaxation, focused attention, and suggestions to create a state of heightened suggestibility and deep relaxation. In this state, individuals are more open to receiving therapeutic suggestions that can help them address various issues, including sleep problems, anxiety, phobias, and more.

Melatonin supplements work primarily by directly influencing the body's sleep-wake cycle. By taking melatonin at appropriate times, individuals can help regulate their circadian rhythm, making it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep.

Hypnotherapy works through relaxation and suggestion. It aims to alleviate sleep problems by addressing underlying psychological factors that might contribute to sleep disturbances, such as anxiety, stress, or negative thought patterns. By inducing a relaxed state and providing positive suggestions, hypnotherapy aims to reframe negative associations with sleep and promote more restful sleep patterns.

If you struggle with sleep, melatonin or valerian will probably help. Hypnoherapy isn't for everyone, but if you are open to discussing it, it might be the permanent solution you're looking for.

Not a professional photo but beautiful, isn't it?

The best things in life are rarely perfect, don't wait to be perfect, just be.

Too often we let anxiety, fear, depression, imposter syndrome, or other symptoms stop us from achieving our goals. Why?

Everyone has a different answer and the good news is - everyone knows their own answer. We can all have control of our minds and our decisions, we just don't always believe we do.

That's where I come in. helps you find your focus, your courage, and your belief in yourself.

Ready to get started? Let's talk!

A few weeks ago, I was working on this little beauty and found that everything going wrong actually came down to just a little faulty wiring.

A few adjustments, a little rewiring and she was good to go.

Not too different than what I do with my clients.

Sometimes there are a lot of symptoms but they all come down to one root cause, easily fixed by a little attention and a few adjustments.

Are you in need of focus?

Are you having trouble sleeping?

Are you having issues with anxiety or depression?

Are you in need of more confidence?

All of these are symptoms and together we can find the cause so you can rewire your thinking to achieve your goals.

I love the sound of the sea.

Calming, centering, soothing.

It's important that we have quiet time in our life - at the sea, in the country, in our sitting room - it doesn't matter where but take time to let your subconscious do its job properly.

We all have the answers to our own challenges, we just don't always know how to find them within ourselves.

Part of my weekend activity was soldering the wings back on this little beauty.

Even the strongest of us can lose our wings or will to fly.

If you've lost your ability to fly, I can fix more than fairy wings. I'll help you find the instruction booklet to your own consciousness and get you flying again.

Always a FREE consultation, just give me a ring and we will set up a chat.
