Whatever you do, don’t wash chicken. Cook properly to the right temperature, wash all surfaces and tools properly. Hand washing. Spend time washing your hands properly.

Washing raw meat and fish can cause bacteria to spread from your sink, causing cross-contamination in your kitchen.

If bacteria spreads to your work surfaces, hands or utensils, any food you prepare could be unsafe to eat.

Only thoroughly cooking meat will get rid of harmful bacteria.
