🌟 We would like to congratulate Stuart James, founder of the Glasgow FND Awareness Support Circle, on receiving the Volunteer of the Year Award at Glasgow City Chambers. This recognition is incredibly well deserved.

Since setting up the group in November, Stuart has worked tirelessly to create support, raise awareness, and build connections for people affected by Functional Neurological Disorder.

These are just some of the things he has achieved so far:

• Established bi-weekly in-person support groups in Glasgow
• Organised a huge educational event for people affected by FND
• Helped raise awareness of the lack of support for FND at parliamentary level
• Built connections with other organisations and services to help strengthen support in Glasgow
• Organised activities and collaborations for the upcoming FND Awareness Day
• Expanded the group to include online support and connections with other areas, widening the support network

This award recognises the dedication and work that has gone into building a community where people affected by FND can connect, feel understood, and support one another.

Congratulations Stuart — we’re very proud of you and everything that has been achieved so far. 🧡💙

🌟 Shine a Light on FND Awareness! 🌟

Join us in supporting those affected by Functional Neurological Disorder Glasgow landmarks will be illuminated in a powerful show of solidarity:

On Tuesday, 24th March, from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Glasgow Science Centre will be lit up to raise awareness of FND—a neurological condition that is often misunderstood and under recognised.

Visitors are encouraged to take photos, share their support on social media, and use the hashtag to help amplify the message.

The following day, Wednesday, 25th March, the iconic Gilbert Scott Building’s South Front at the University of Glasgow will be illuminated.

Additionally, on Wednesday, 25th March, Forge Shopping Centre will participate by illuminating its façade in support of FND awareness.

This collaboration underscores the importance of community involvement in raising understanding and compassion for those affected by FND.

Help spread the word! Capture photos of the lights, share on social media, and use the hashtag to raise awareness and foster understanding. 🧡💙

Let’s come together to shine a light on this often misunderstood condition. 💪🧡💙

We’re incredibly proud of Miriam Nadeem for speaking out and raising awareness of Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), while also highlighting the work our Glasgow support group is doing.

Miriam is a wonderful addition to our community and will be hosting online support meetings, helping to create a safe, understanding space for people living with FND.

Raising awareness and sharing lived experience is so important in helping others feel less alone.

If you or someone you know is affected by FND and would like to connect with our community, please feel free to drop us a message 🧡

17-year-old Miriam Nadeem had symptoms of Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) for several "lonely" months before her diagnosis 😥
