For the Mothers 💕💐

Not the imaginary perfect ones.
The real ones.

The ones who stayed up worrying
long after the house went quiet.

The ones who stretched the budget
so their children never felt the strain.

The ones who carried fear in their chest
but showed courage in their voice.

The ones who made mistakes
and kept loving anyway.

The ones who held little hands,
then slowly learned to let them go.

Motherhood is rarely glamorous.
It is patient.
It is exhausting.
It is ordinary and heroic at the same time.

So today I’m thinking of the mothers
who did their best
with the tools they had,
the strength they could gather,
and the love they carried.

If you have a mother like that,
tell her thank you.

And if you are one of those mothers —
the quiet heroes of everyday life —

please remember:

You matter more than you know. Keep on loving, Mama Bear. 🐻

Remember Mother’s Day is 15 March!

💔 Self-Love Isn’t What You Think

When I was going through a lonely, emotionally rough season, well-meaning intuitive people would say,
“That’s because you’re not loving yourself.”

And honestly? That infuriated me.

I thought I was loving myself.

I was confident.
I believed I deserved love.
I had high standards.
I took myself out for nice meals.
I bought myself thoughtful things.
I did all the things people say are “self love.”

But here’s the truth:

I couldn’t look in the mirror and say, “I love you.”

All I saw was woundedness.

And that’s when I realised something.

Self-love isn’t performance.
It’s not spa days.
It’s not solo dates.
It’s not buying yourself gifts.

Those things can help.
But they are surface care.

Real self-love is self-healing.

It’s doing inner child work when you experienced psychological harm.
It’s doing shadow work when you learned to hide parts of yourself to survive.
It’s putting yourself back together when trauma fragmented you.

It’s choosing not to abandon yourself when the work gets hard.

Because it will get hard.

You will want to keep denial in place.
You will want to leave those scars untouched.
You will wonder if reopening old wounds is worth it.

Self-love says: yes.

Self-love says a healed, integrated, whole you is worth the discomfort of facing what hurt you.

Self-love asks:
What hurt you?
Why?
What care should you have received?
From whom?
And how can you offer that care to yourself now?

Self-love is not self-indulgence.
It is the refusal to abandon yourself.

And that changes everything.

💔When You’re Lonely on Valentine’s Day

As a teacher, I used to watch the quiet agony of students who didn’t receive a card. Or flowers. Or chocolate at school.
Who pretended it didn’t matter.
Who may have downplayed it, but whose eyes kept scanning the room as other students received gifts throughout the day. My heart ached for them and I did my best to encourage them that high school wasn’t a predictor of the rest of their lives.

However, those feelings of uncertainty, low self-esteem, unattractiveness, and loneliness don’t magically disappear in adulthood.

For some people, Valentine’s Day triggers those old insecurities:
“Is there something wrong with me?”
“Why does everyone else seem to find love?”
“Will anyone ever choose me?”

Personally, I’ve experienced these feelings too. I’ve been married; I’ve been divorced. I’ve been in love; I’ve watched it disappear. I’ve been giddy in new romance; I’ve been crushed with abandonment and/or betrayal. I’ve experienced it all.

So let me say this clearly:

Not being in a relationship is not evidence that you are unlovable.
It is not proof that you are lacking.
It is not a verdict on your worth.

Romance is public.
Loneliness is private.
And social media makes it look like everyone else is chosen, celebrated, adored.

But love is not a competition.
It’s not a popularity contest.
And it does not run on a universal timeline.
And like wealth, it doesn’t always come in proportion to those who need it the most.

You are not unlovable.
You are not defective.
You are not “too much” or “not enough.”

You DESERVE a relationship where someone sees the whole of you —
your humour, your depth, your scars, your HEART AND SOUL —
and says, “Yes. This one.”

Until then, do not let one commercialised day convince you that you are less, lacking, or hopeless.

You are already worthy of love.
Not when someone picks you.
Now.

So if this Valentine’s Day finds you without a sweetheart, don’t despair. Instead honour the relationship you have for life: love yourself as fiercely as you would love another. Do something special just for YOU!

Personally, Tristan is taking Tristan out for an expensive steak dinner at a nice restaurant and giving Valentine’s treats to his dogs. 🐶

Brief Bio

After retiring from teaching English at the secondary level for 22 years, Trish Worster was educated as a clinical psychotherapist in Oklahoma in the States. She had planned to set up a traditional practice, but the Universe had different plans for her counselling skills. Trish moved to Scotland, land of her maternal ancestors, in July 2017. Here, her spiritual awakening and the activation of her psychic gifts accelerated at an often unsettling pace. One year later, she officially launched Eye of Horus Intuitive Counselling and Energy Healing and within six months, thanks to technology, she has been able to help clients across four continents (North and South America, Europe, and Asia). Trish is a certified and insured intuitive healer. Trish has also been formally annointed as a Healer by a Scottish Episcopalian priest-- bringing both dimensions of spiritual understanding together.

In September 2018, she added a Masters degree in Ethics and Practical Theology from the University of Edinburgh to her previous Masters in Human Relations degree and teaching experience. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Ethics and Practical Theology as well.

Next to playing with her two wee dogs and hiking through the Scottish countryside, one of Trish's greatest joys is helping others unlock the true potential of their Higher Selves.
