One thing the research is very clear on:

Strength training becomes more important as we age not less.

For women in their 50s, 60s and 70s, appropriate strength training helps:
• Preserve muscle
• Support bone density
• Improve balance
• Protect joints
• Maintain independence

But “appropriate” is the key word.

This stage of life doesn’t need punishment or pressure.
It needs structure, good form, and thoughtful progression.

When strength training is done properly, it becomes one of the most powerful tools we have for ageing well 🩷

It’s beginning to feel like Christmas, amounts to a busy time of filming for my online weights group . My Saturday morning amazing group in their jumpers, though numbers were low today , I guess it’s Christmas 😜.

I have been attending the studio for years, first with Cherry who got me hooked. Now I attend Liz's class. Recently I've not been able to attend as regularly and my back is suffering.
Last night I almost didn't go as it was so stiff and painful but I am so glad I did. It was like Liz read my mind and by the end of the class I felt so much better, like I'd been given several steroid injections!
I slept like a log and have a spring in my step this morning!
