A new year always brings about the 2025 highlights of everyone's year...

But if 2025 was a tough year, for whatever reason, then it's okay if your biggest achievement was getting through it - because it is an achievement❤️ So give yourself the kindness and grace to acknowledge that❤️

New years can also be an anxiety inducing time for some people, with the turn of the new year and a lot of pressure and expectations that brings

Or the reflection of the previous year with the expectations put on yourself, or not achieving what you said you would, or comparing yourself to others

But here's some reminders / quotes / intentions I've included, to hopefully help you going into 2026, to take that pressure off and to show yourself more kindness❤️

At Guillem's book event in October, he spoke about how Unai wants to create memories, and my god, that's indeed what he's doing🤩

It's that time of year again🎄

Where usually everything goes out the window

The 'all or nothing' mindset definitely plays its part and the talk about 'starting in the new year' starts

I know, I've been there

But, contrary to belief, you CAN still enjoy all those Christmas things and enjoy the build up, whilst still getting some consistency in

You just have to adapt, which I know can be easier said than done

Usually hit exercise 5x a week? Instead, try 3

Usually go for an hour? Try 45, or even 30

If you exercise because you enjoy it, because it makes you feel better mentally, rather than aesthetically, then I promise this will become easier🫶

Also, remember to show yourself kindness and don't put pressure on yourself, this tends to have the opposite effect

Another thing to remember - if you have 50% to give in that moment, and you're giving all of that 50, then you're giving 100%🫶

Just over a week ago Mental Health and Exercise Coaches got together and as always, it delivered🤩

A day of learning and connecting with like minded coaches on the same mission - what more could you want?

Despite being in an awful place (St Andrews - Birmingham City Football Club)🤢🤢😂

Had to wear my Villa jumper and take a Villa flask to protect myself 😂

Boundaries were crossed - having the pitch has a view then having to go and take a seat for the photo in the stadium🤢 Thanks Dan and Ben 😂😂

Putting that aside, it's always such a good time when MHEC coaches get together, and because we only see each other a couple times a year in person, it makes it more special when we do❤️

The community that Dan and Ben have built is something else, and the support and knowledge they provide us with, can't thank them enough 🫶

So nice to meet coaches I haven't met before as well, what it's all about🫶

Only took a couple of photos, well because I forgot, probably due to shock😂

Obviously had to combat going to St Andrews, by going to Villa Park on the Sunday and witness a 4-0 win🤩❤️

And the remembrance display beforehand🫶

Only for MHEC would I go to Birmingham City🤢😂

Yesterday was World Mental Health Day❤️

Mental Health doesn't fit into a box

Mental Health is something we all have (we don't need to be qualified therapists to talk about it❤️)

Depression isn't just not getting out of bed, it's so much more than that

Anxiety isn't just panic attacks

Mental Health is typically viewed as a negative thing, but you can have positive, negative, or a mix🫶

Because we all have mental health🫶

Make an effort to ask someone how they're feeling - but really how they're feeling (not just 'you okay?' 'cool'...)

AND just a side note - if you post on your socials: 'If you need to talk, you can always message me' even though the intention behind it is good, speaking from personal experience - this probably won't be enough to get someone to reach out to you🫶 because majority of the time, reaching out is the hardest part to do

When I was struggling, I would never have reached out to someone, in the end it was forced and I couldn't have been more grateful❤️

Included a few helplines in the reel, if you think this will help someone, or if you can relate, or if you're struggling and you find reaching out the hardest part, because it is - I understand, but trust me, you'll be so glad you did, so please reach out to someone🫶

Never Miss a Monday' is such an overused phrase but it can actually be more detrimental to your goals

Yes, starting the week off in the right way, setting you up for the rest of the week is all good but what if you do miss that Monday?

To me, it's got a lot of guilt to it and instilling the mindset of 'starting again on Monday'

Things happens, life happens

You can't always guarantee to get it done on Monday's - but it's not the be all and end all, just start the following day, or the next

Each day is a chance to 'start again'

Not just the turn of the week

I rarely train on Monday's, but I also don't let that affect my week🫶

It's been a while but a good time to come back to raise awareness for World Su***de Prevention Day❤️

If anything in this has affected you in anyway, please reach out to me, or someone, or I've included some helplines at the back❤️

'Committed Su***de' is such a common phrase when someone dies by su***de

People 'commit' crimes, su***de IS NOT a crime

We need to do better in educating ourselves as a world / country / community / individuals on the subject of mental health and su***de❤️

So instead of saying 'Committed' Su***de, say:

- Died by su***de
- Took their own life
- Ended their life
- Lost their life to su***de

And whilst we're on the subject, su***de is also NOT selfish or attention seeking - which I would assume would go without saying but in 2025, the above is still an assumption by some

Which again proves, we need to do better❤️

We live in a society where if someone gains weight then they've 'let themselves go'

Because, god forbid, someone actually gains weight, is happier and healthier (both mentally and physically)

That person that's gained weight might have actually had an eating disorder, but they've done so much work on themselves, gained weight, and are now in a much better place, both mentally and physically

All because we live in a society where being 'thin' is what it's about, even if you're compromising your mental health

So I'm here to tell you - as long as you're happy and healthy - whatever size you are, then just do you❤️
