Happy valentines day πŸ’“
This is a gentle reminder about self love, a reminder to take care of yourself but also to make time for yourself in an increasingly busy world πŸ’š
My self-care last weekend was indoor plant shopping, potting, planting, propagating πŸͺ΄ 🌱😁
Enjoy the sunshine today, much love, Bouncing Back πŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈ

πŸŽ‰ Bouncing Back is turning 10 this April! πŸŽ‰

This year marks 10 incredible years of helping you move better, recover stronger, and stay active β€” and I couldn’t have done it without all of you 🩡

There are already lots of exciting things going on for me and the business this year - I will keep you posted 🌳 πŸƒ πŸ™Š

I’d love your help to celebrate! How should I mark the occasion? At the core of my business I care very much about community and being part of the journey to helping people get better. You all know me well, I haven't got time for a huge extravagant events so your ideas are welcomed for something small and meaningful.

πŸ‘‰ A special event? πŸ€΅β€β™€οΈ
πŸ‘‰ something for charity? ❀️
πŸ‘‰ physical challenge πŸ’ͺ
πŸ‘‰ Something fun in the clinic for those visiting? 😁

Drop your ideas in the comments β€” let’s celebrate together! πŸ₯³ 🩡

Winter + new goals = more injuries if we’re not careful ❄️πŸ’ͺ
One of the biggest injury triggers we see in January?
⬆️ Sudden return to exercise
After weeks (or months or even years!) of reduced activity, jumping straight back into intense training can overload muscles, tendons, and joints. Research shows that overexertion is one of the most common causes of exercise-related injuries in adults returning to activity β€” especially after a break. Although exercise is super important!! Your fitness may feel like it’s still there, but your tissues often aren’t ready yet.
⚠️ Common results:
Muscle strains
Tendon pain
Flare-ups of old injuries
βœ…οΈ The key? Gradual progression of load, proper prehab, and addressing weaknesses early.
πŸ‘‰ I always recommend speaking to someone if you aren't sure! ☎️

Annual leave 24th December - 2nd January.

I’m signing off for 2025. I always find this time of year a good time to reflect. I am always so thankful for the people I work with for allowing me to be a small part of their life, it is such an honour. I am grateful for my own health, and will continue to try to practice what I preach (although I am impartial to a gin or two!). Continuing with my Prof Doc has been an adventure this year. There are new projects on the horizon for 2026. Life is short, have fun, take care of your body, we are only given one 🧘

Thank you for all my wonderful Christmas gifts, they are so appreciated 😍

I know not everyone enjoys this time of year, I just want to remind you that there are plenty of people who do care, including me ❀️

Love you all, thank you for all the support this year! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year πŸ₯³ see you all very soon πŸ€ΈπŸŽ„

As always - no Christmas cards from me! Instead I chose to donate money to charity. This year the 3 charities I have chosen:
- snaizeholme woodland trust in Yorkshire, I was there this summer and had the absolute pleasure of watching the little red squirrels they have worked so hard to reintroduce.
- RABI - in support of the farming community. Rural Britain is in crisis - buy British πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ support local πŸ’š I want to see countryside for our future generations
- 4Ed campaign - Such a needed charity for MND πŸ‰ I work closely with the so pay attention fir their next fundraiser!
The season for giving, not everything costs money πŸŽ„
🎁 share the page of a local business
🎁 pay someone a compliment
🎁 reach out to friend to check on them
🎁 invite someone who might be alone at Xmas around for a cuppa
Sending love ❀️ have a wonderful week! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸš΄β€β™‚οΈπŸ‹πŸ‡

Flowers to say thank you 😍 such a lovely gesture.
I am incredibly busy at the moment, a kind gesture like this means the world to me - thank you! 😊 life is busy and I am carefully sharing time between:
- patients
- lecturing
- mentoring new grads
- new clinic
- Professional Doctorate
- life too! Because I really believe in practice what you preach - exercising and eating well help keep up with busy life.
I am on holiday for a week as of the 26th November so any queries please get in touch before then πŸ™

Nosey πŸ‘ƒβ€¦ ideally you want a nosey healthcare professional. The reason being so many health conditions are systemic and therefore need to be treated holistically. Let’s take frozen shoulder as an example…

Frozen shoulder is not simply an "injury" it is a whole body issue. As you can see from my little nerdy info graphic below. This is why I always do a 60-75 min initial appointment! I want to know EVERYTHING so I can make the best decisions for you and your treatment plan!

Based on a wonderful journal article I read last week, I know what a bookworm πŸ€“

Frozen shoulder as a systemic immunometabolic disorder: the roles of estrogen, thyroid dysfunction, endothelial health, lifestyle, and clinical implications - Santiago Navarro-Ledesma (October 2025)
