🧐 Curious to know what an osteopathic treatment with me might be like?

This is a follow up treatment for neck and shoulder issue 😓

Each treatment will be a little different depending on age, medical history and the diagnosis.

⭐ No, not everyone gets ‘cracked’ / manipulated .. it is only used if deemed suitable

⭐ No, not everyone gets taped up! But it is likely I will give you some exercises or stretches to do at home to help speed up your recovery ❤️‍🩹

🎄I know some of you are guilty of this 🙊

This time of year it happens😅

- Move a little more (especially if you’re binge watching a series)
- Try not to cross your legs and sit with your legs straight out or up
- Watch your neck is supported and relaxed not hunched up like Gollum

🧑‍🎄 Remember - if you’ve been a little naughty we’re here to help. You won’t get a lump of coal 😋I promise!

🧊 It’s that icey time of year where slips and falls are more likely to happen 🥲

Practise balance and proprioception exercises to help you prevent falls and injuries 🤕

This is an example of tree pose balance which can be modified for all ages/ fitness abilities.

Remember - keep it fun and if you are a bit wobbly 😵‍💫 always have something next to you to hold on to!

Practise for a 1min every day and you’ll be surprised by how quickly your balance improves 😄

🥶 We are coming into winter, and our bodies may be feeling more sluggish and achey than usual 🥲

Here’s a few simple changes that can help:

⛄️Keep hydrated - it’s easy to not drink water in winter, but things like central heating really do dehydrate us.
Try drinking hot water with a slice of lemon and ginger for extra immunity boosting properties.

⛄️Take a vitamin D supplement.
From October to March in the UK we can not absorb enough vitamin D from our sun.
Vitamin D is really important for mood and energy.

⛄️Go for a lunch time stroll.
The natural sunlight on your face will help to lift your mood and it’s easier to feel more motivated and get some steps/ movement in during the daylight (even if it’s just a quick one)

⛄️Get your iron and B12 tested if your energy is super low - you may have a deficiency. These deficiencies can also lead to you aching more than usual.

⛄️Keep your hands and feet warm 🧤
Arthritis can be aggravated by the cold

Remember we are always here for your winter aches and pains should you need an extra little TLC for those achey muscles and joints 😊

🩵 Kind Reminder - Our Cancellation/ reschedule policy requires you to give us at least 24 hours notice.

Failure to do so will result in us charging 50% of the treatment fee.

Please understand that we are unable to fill your appointment with such short notice and we do not receive an hourly salary etc. as well as have overheads to cover.

We know that 90% of our patients understand this ❤️ and of course emergencies happen and we completely understand that.

Thank you for your understanding and continued trust in us 🙏🏼

Try this simple technique to help relieve back tension, stay there as long as feels good and always roll back up with control 😄

💪🏾 Resilience 💥

Great time this week talking to a wonderful bunch of NHS advanced nurse practitioners on resilience and how we can build our own inner strength 🧠 and regulate our nervous system.

Of course followed by a relaxing mini yoga class 🧘🏻 ✨

☀️ Health doesn’t have to be complicated ☀️

Small, sustainable changes will be much better for you and your body in the long run than extreme diets/ fitness trends.

🌟 Small, achievable changes are more likely to become habits rather than big changes which can often fizzle out when we lose ‘motivation’ or have a bad day - leaving us feeling disappointed when they don’t work out.

💡 Remember- lots of little steps 🟰 big distances

☀️ The sun has made its appearance in the uk !
This can only mean everyone will be out sorting their garden 🪴 (not me, I’ll stick to sorting people 😅😂)

👉🏽Follow these 4 simple tips to avoid injury this spring

🪴It’s easy to get carried away when the sun comes out (as it’s fairly rare here 😂) but make sure you change patient and get up and walk around / stretch every 45mins or so.

🪴Avoid bending and twisting if possible. Try to face what you are doing square on, it will keep your lower back happier.

🪴Use a kneeling pad if you are gonna be kneeling for a long time - long periods of kneeling can irritate any existing arthritis in the knee or irritate the bursae of the knee and lead to swelling.

🪴Stay hydrated and use SPF ☀️ sun damage is no joke and dehydration can lead to headaches and feeling generally rubbish.

🪴Enjoy getting out in nature and lapping up that vitamin D 😎👌🏼

Should you get any gardening aches and pains - we are of course here to help you get back on track 😃

✨ Price change from April ✨

Hi everyone,

I’ve tried to put this off as long as possible but I need to raise the price of Follow Up visits to keep up with rising costs.

Follow up visits will go from £47 to £49 on April 1st 2025 (awaiting April fools comments. 😅)

Thank you to all our wonderful patients for your support over the years and understanding; we would not exist without you 🙏🏼
