Parton House Care Home, Located in the heart of the village of Churchdown, Halfway between Gloucester and Cheltenham, It is set back off the road down a long driveway. The home has its own extensive grounds and is surrounded by community allotments and playing fields, giving it a quiet, rural feel.

🐾🌿 National Wildlife Day at the home!

Today our residents embraced the great outdoors with gentle strolls around the grounds, keeping eyes peeled for signs of wildlife — from birdsong in the trees 🐦 to fluttering wings and springtime sights 🦋🌼 (even if it’s still a little nippy, the fresh air is always worth it!).

Back indoors, the wildlife theme continued with plenty of brain-boosting fun: wildlife wordsearches, a wildlife quiz, and even a “match the sequence” challenge to get everyone thinking and laughing together 🧩✅

A lovely day of movement, memories, and appreciation for the nature right on our doorstep. 💚

What a lovely session at Parton House Care Home!

This week we’ve been using our Life History Ball to help us get to know our residents even more. With every gentle throw and catch comes a new question – and with it, a shared story, a smile, and plenty of laughter along the way. 🥰

It’s such a simple activity, but it creates meaningful 1-to-1 time, encourages conversation and reminiscence, and helps residents feel truly seen and heard. From favourite memories to little everyday joys, it’s been a wonderful way to connect.

🍰 Cake Sale Today....

We’ve been busy in the kitchen, and it’s safe to say the house is smelling amazing… 😍

Here are a few snaps of the hard work and prep that’s gone into just one of today’s treats — with residents getting involved in mixing and baking, including some delicious homemade banana bread 🍌✨

Everything is nearly ready to enjoy with a lovely cup of tea, so pop along, say hello, and treat yourself!

A very special visitor...

We had an unforgettable day here at Parton House when this magnificent bird of prey came to meet our residents and team. The room was filled with smiles, curiosity and a little bit of awe as everyone had the chance to see such a beautiful creature up close – and even hold it!

For many, it was a completely new experience and for others it brought back wonderful memories of the countryside and wildlife. The expressions on our residents’ faces say it all – joy, amazement and plenty of laughter as the bird showed off its stunning feathers and strong presence.

A huge thank you to the handler for bringing this incredible experience into our home – it was truly one to remember!

What a lovely birthday celebration...

We marked the day in true Parton House style – with a beautiful birthday cake, candles glowing, and plenty of smiles as everyone gathered to celebrate together. Moments like these are so special, bringing residents and team members together to share laughter, sweet treats, and heartfelt wishes.

🧩 A lovely, gentle afternoon at Parton House...

We’ve been enjoying some peaceful time with puzzles and jigsaws here at Parton House recently — one of our residents’ favourite activities. 💛

Jigsaws are such a wonderful way to relax, stay focused, and enjoy a calm moment together. It’s been lovely to see everyone getting involved, helping place the pieces, and sharing smiles as the picture starts to come together. 😊

These activities are a brilliant way to keep minds ticking over, encourage focus, and most importantly, create a relaxed space for a chat and a laugh while we work away. Whether it’s spotting words, sharing tips, or celebrating a finished page, it’s the little wins that make the day special. 😊

❤️🍪 Valentine’s baking at Parton House!...

We’ve been keeping the Valentine’s spirit going at Parton House, and our residents have been super busy in the kitchen making chocolate chip Valentine’s biscuits — and they smelled absolutely amazing! 😍

From mixing and shaping to adding those all-important chocolate chips, it was a lovely activity that brought plenty of smiles, conversation, and a real sense of togetherness. And of course… the best part was enjoying a well-earned taste (or two!) with a cuppa afterwards. ☕✨

A huge well done to everyone who joined in — homemade treats made with love are always the sweetest. 💕

💅❤️ We were Valentine’s-ready at Parton House...

Our lovely ladies at Parton House had been getting into the Valentine’s spirit with a pamper session — and just look at those gorgeous red nails! ✨

From fresh manicures to glossy finishes, it was a wonderfully relaxing afternoon filled with smiles, chats, and that feel-good sparkle you get when you’re all polished up. Self-care never goes out of style, and our residents absolutely loved showing off their new look!

A big thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special — we think these nails are the perfect finishing touch for Valentine’s Day. 🌹

This week at Parton House we’ve been busy creating homemade Valentine’s cards for loved ones 💌❤️

There was so much warmth in the room as residents chose colours, drew hearts, and wrote loving messages to the people who mean the most to them.

Alongside the smiles and creativity, we also shared gentle moments of remembrance—reminiscing about loved ones who are no longer with us, and holding those memories close.

A truly heartwarming session, filled with love in every sense. 💕

A lovely trip down memory lane...

This week we enjoyed a music-themed reminiscence activity with a question that sparked so many smiles and stories: “What was your wedding song?”

From “You Are My Heart’s Delight” to “Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring” (and a few “I’ll have to have a think!” moments too!), it was a wonderful way to celebrate special memories, share personal stories, and connect through the music that’s meant the most over the years.
