The home has its own extensive grounds and is surrounded by community allotments and playing fields, giving it a quiet, rural feel.

🧁 Baking at Parton...

Our residents enjoyed a relaxed afternoon of baking last week, making a fresh batch of chocolate chip cupcakes. There were plenty of smiles (and a bit of friendly whisking competition!) as everyone got involved.

Once they were out of the oven, the cupcakes were shared around and enjoyed together with a cup of tea — a simple activity, but always a favourite.

It’s lovely to see everyone taking part and enjoying something homemade.

🎉 A Special Celebration at Parton...

This week, we had the pleasure of celebrating one of our lovely residents as she marked her 80th birthday. It was a wonderful afternoon filled with smiles, candles, and a delicious homemade cake that everyone enjoyed.

Wishing her many more happy and healthy years ahead. ❤️

🏓 Weekend Fun at Parton...

Our residents enjoyed a lively Saturday afternoon of ping-pong cup games, and it brought out plenty of smiles, concentration, and friendly competition!

These simple activities are always a favourite — great for coordination, keeping the mind active, and most importantly, sharing laughter together.

📺 Sharing Favourite TV Memories at Parton House...

We’ve been having some lovely conversations this week as we asked our residents:
“What was your favourite TV programme growing up?”

From classic dramas to childhood favourites, it was wonderful to hear the shows that brought joy, comfort, and entertainment over the years.

Everyone enjoyed reminiscing, and it sparked many stories, smiles, and shared memories throughout the home.

Honouring Remembrance Day at Parton House ❤️🌺

Our residents have been busy in the kitchen this week, baking delicious poppy-shaped biscuits in honour of Remembrance Day.

From mixing the dough to decorating each biscuit with care, everyone got involved — and of course, we all agreed the best part was tasting the results! 🍪

It was a lovely way to come together, reflect, and remember those who have served and sacrificed.

Moments like these remind us that Remembrance isn’t only about looking back — it’s about sharing stories, creating together, and passing gratitude forward.

🎆 Bonfire Night at Parton House...

We had a truly wonderful evening celebrating Bonfire Night with our very own fireworks display in the garden! ✨

From colourful bursts to Roman candles, our residents had the best seats in the house — safely watching all the excitement from the comfort and warmth of home.

Of course, no Bonfire Night would be complete without some traditional firework food — hot dogs and French fries were enjoyed by everyone! 🌭🍟

🍪 Baking Day at Parton House...

We’ve been busy turning simple ingredients into freshly baked biscuits—and a lot of smiles! Residents took part in every step: measuring, mixing, shaping and tasting. With gloves on and bowls at the ready, there was brilliant teamwork and plenty of chat as memories of favourite family recipes came flooding back.

Why we love baking together:
It’s sensory and soothing—the feel of dough, the sound of mixing, and the smell of biscuits in the oven.
Great for fine motor skills and confidence as everyone sees (and tastes!) the results of their efforts.
A lovely way to socialise over a cuppa while the trays cool.

The verdict? Two delicious plates of biscuits—some buttery, some spiced—and not many left by the end of the afternoon!

🏐 Seated Ball Games...

This week our wellbeing team facilitated seated ball games in the lounge—an inclusive activity designed for all abilities.

Why we use it:
Physical: encourages gentle upper-body movement, supports joint mobility and circulation, and helps maintain coordination.

Cognitive: promotes attention, reaction time and decision-making through simple rules and turn-taking.

Social & Emotional: offers shared enjoyment, confidence building and positive connection between residents and staff.

Activities are risk-assessed and adapted to each resident, with soft equipment and clear, supported instructions. Most importantly, with plenty of smiles.

🎃 Pumpkin Prep...

Residents and staff had great fun this week carving our Halloween pumpkins!

There was plenty of concentration (and laughter) as we scooped out seeds, sketched spooky faces and brought each design to life. The lounge turned into a cosy workshop with warm drinks, chat and lots of teamwork.

Huge thanks to our activities team for setting everything up safely. We’re proud of the brilliant results and can’t wait to light them up for Halloween tomorrow. 🕯️🧡

🎉🎂 Birthday Celebrations at Parton House...

We had not just one, but several birthdays to celebrate recently here at Parton House — and what better way to mark the occasion than with plenty of cake and smiles all around! 🧁💛

Our wonderful kitchen team prepared a delicious selection of cupcakes and a large celebration cake, turning the day into a lovely mini party for everyone to enjoy.

A very Happy Birthday to all our residents and staff who celebrated — we hope your day was as special as you are! 🥳💐

🍫🎉 Bingo, Hot Chocolate & Cake....

It was all smiles here at Parton House Care Home this weekend as our residents enjoyed a fun-filled few days of bingo, hot chocolates, short walks and plenty of delicious cake! ☕🍰

As the nights draw in and the temperatures drop, we're looking forward to Halloween and festivities here at Parton House.... Stay tuned for more updates from our activities.

🎉💐 A Fond Farewell and Happy Retirement!...

This week at Parton House Care Home, we celebrated a very special day as one of our lovely ladies enjoyed her last day at the home before heading off to enjoy her well-earned retirement.

The team decorated the home beautifully and hosted a cheerful party, complete with a delicious buffet for both staff and residents. 🥳🍰

It was a wonderful afternoon filled with laughter, memories, and heartfelt goodbyes. We wish her all the very best for the next chapter...
