In our sessions we suggest people try and cover at least 1/2 plate with vegetables or salad for lunch and evening meal. Fine if you like veg but what if your not a fan? Incorporating vegetables into other dishes can be a great place to start, for example adding grated carrot to a bolognaise, using tins of tomatoes to make simple sauces, thinking of trying veggies cooked in different ways, for example a carrot can be grated, boiled, steamed, roasted or even mashed, spiced up with some cumin seeds or glazed with a drizzle of honey. Even for us adults we need to try food on multiple occasions before we decide we definitely don't like it. Although aimed at children these recipes could be a great place to start expanding your vegetable intake

Help little ones get their five-a-day by hiding some veg in their meals. Kids will love our traybakes, bolognese-style pasta dishes and more.
